Hey guys my mum and dad have decided to buy a new dog! I am well happy considering I've got a shitzu which is amazingly cute for it's kind.....but very bloomin lazy :/
One thing with my mum is she HATES large dogs, which means we're set to a medium and small size limit. I want a beagle my mum wants a daschund but I also want to know what else is out there! (also want a husky :( bit it's too large :'((((( )
Just wondering if anyone can tell me what types of dogs, and maybe give me a link to a picture and some information on it! I'm also from the U.K. please please please no stupidly fluffy ugly dogs! :P (shitzus are steriotyped around a long haired UGLY flat faced small breed) amazingly my dog isn't like that what so ever I got really lucky :)
Well ty in advance!!! and OMG beagles are expensive :(

We had 2 beagles, now we only have one =D They're great dogs, but can be very naughty.

I second that. I had 4 of them when I was a teen. (lived in the country, had massive space for them.) I love Danes, greatest dog ever created.

Well, in the small-medium variety, I'd go Corgi.
Very sweet dogs, and if you have any cats or small children, they will try to herd them. Case in Point. xD
I've had several neighbors that have had them, and they're great dogs. Can get pretty active too...

Personally, I'd go for a boxer.
I'm biased though as I spent more time sleeping in our Boxer's basket as a baby than I did in my crib. There was concern that my mom might bite the dog out of jealousy. ;-)
Seriously, they're the sweetest, kindest luggamuffins you could want. They only drool if you give them wrong foods (like in from your plate). Ours never drooled until in his last 3 weeks. For some reason he also never barked except for 3 times in his life, one of which was my birth :-)
Oh, and short haired! Very important :-)

Two words.
Shiba Inu.
Quite possibily one of the greatest breed of dog ever. Its a pretty medium sized dog, it sheds LIKE HELL.
I cant really give that well of infomation, but you can info from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiba_inu
But I can post pictures of this amazing dog!
His name's Pepper, three years old and male. He's a bit crazy though :P
'Sort of' is such a harmless thing to say. Sort of. It's just a filler. Sort of - it doesn't really mean anything. But after certain things, sort of means everything. Like after 'I love you' or 'You're going to live' or 'It's a boy.'

Dachshund and Border Collie here.
Border Collie was freshly washed.
They are fun, but known for their stubbornness, if you got the guts to handle them, especially when young you can get a good dog later on, the general traits are ofcourse that they look you deeper in the eyes, most dogs don't do that alot, another thing is random day-dreaming they seem to do, just standing still for 5 minutes in the middle of a room. And most like barking alot, and its hard to actually learn em not to do it.
Still, very fun dogs, very brave aswell, almost stupidly brave as they would go against dogs (see Danish one) without holding back, but it really depends how much people in the neighborhood have nasty dogs, i haven't had a single problem regarding that yet.

Well here is a pic of the two Akitas I had. They were very sweet and protecting. Now I have two Great Pyrenees. They are very good with kids and very loyal and protective but very big.
On the small dog issue I've always thought Jack Russell Terriers are cute dogs.
Edited to put a thumbnail for easier loading.

Akita's are in the same dog group as Shiba's(I dont really know what their called, and I'm not gonna make an effort to remember right now). But Shiba's are usually smaller. So if you want a smaller akita get a shiba

I ² this!
I've had like 3 (technically 4) boxers and they were all awsome! (did the basket thing to ;])
Although ours all barket alot. But then again we do kinda simulate them to do it. And their very protective, specially with children and young animals.
Or you can try French Bulldogs: Their small, short haired but have immense power (for their size). The only diference from their Englisg cousin is that they have a thinner chest.
Look a bith like Boxers (with their flat face) and very much the same character (very lively, even in their last day's).

Well i don't have a dog but my Aunt has a Australian Shepard, and they are wonderful dogs. Especially ma Aunts it listen so its amazing, and it surprises me every time i go to them.
Studies show that 92% of teens listen to rap. If you are part of the 8% that listens to real music the add this to your signature.

From my experience, Chihuahua's have to be the best smaller breed of Dogs. They can be on the expensive side though.
Here's a pic of my Girlfriends TeaCup Chihuahua. He's like her little baby. She never goes anywhere without him ^^
