I've only sort of been following this one, and was curious how people liked it so far (early access has begun, right?). I didn't preorder, but I'm thinking of picking it up when it comes out later this week.
Just curious what people impression of it are so far...
EDIT: Oh, and I'm mainly from Guild Wars, so GW speak is welcome for comparisons. xD

Rawr, from what I've played of it so far, think pre ascalon quests, but on a island filled with pirates and demons. Haven't seen much of the mainland yet... server were taken down for an update XD.
The combat system is nothing like GW, think The Witcher (if you've played it).
Just, make sure you have a good comp lol, the game isn't very good if your comp doesn't meet/exceed rec. system specs.

Well, I can't compare it to GW (sorry, that's one of them I haven't tried yet), but so far after a day of playing a few different types of characters, all I can say is....WOW [not WoW, but wow].
The graphics are sooooo amazing sometimes I just stop and look at the grass and water...omg! They definately hit your resources very hard, but I think they are worth it. I'm going out today to buy a new or second video card...I heard all these folks touting their 75fps and can only imagine what that must look like (I had to turn of shadows to get up to 12fps, lol).
The character creater customization is on par with (if not better than) CoX, which I had hoped for, but never thought I'd see. It all ties in perfectly with the story too!
The combat system is amazing! It took quite a while for me to catch on because it's so much more complex than CoX or WoW, but once you get the hang of it, I can't imagine any other way to do it. The big thing is that there is no auto-attack (WoW) or perma-target(CoX). If you're not facing your soon-to-be-corpes, swinging away like a blood-crazed barbarian, you're going down. You need to manually direct each swing (in melee at least) and use combos for maximum effect. This sounds like a pain in the butt, but once you get into it and see your first decapitation, you'll never want to go back... :)
I also love the quests...they are very story driven, and the language they are spoken in is very true to Howard's Conan stories. And ala CoX, the quest objectives show up on your minimap so you don't have to run all over Tortage to find the next clue. And....I've yet to see a "Kill __ of ____" type quest! :)
Haven't made it past 9 yet (read: altoholic) so we'll have to see how it compares in the world play with WoW and the like, but so far I'd have to give it a solid A+. I haven't been this blown away since I popped in that City of Heroes disc for the first time to start my MMO experience.

I did find 2 Kill XX and come back quests, both want 40-50 kills each, in a pvp zone... owch those were a pain LOL.
Got to lvl 20... don't have a single alt XD. Gogo conq.

Well, after the second day of play, I can say that the later quests get a lot more... "WoW like" most of them are kill x, find x, deliver x to x type quests, and the voice overs are mostly dropped once you get to the mainland.

since i got bored of guild wars ive waiting for it !!!!!!!!!! my mates got the pre-order keeps rubbing it in that he's playing it gah have to wait till friday :(

Heh, your mate bought Early Access. Sub-set of Pre-order. I pre-ordered with Play.com, which means that the odds are good you will be in earlier than I will be if you buy the box in a store coming Friday or Saturday...
I get a War Rhino at level 40 though :-)

OK, I got it today, but I must need a new DVD drive. It's been installing for 3+ hours, and is only halfway done. xD
Although, to be fair, I probably lost 30-60 minutes when it asked for disc 2, and I was at lunch...

I love the day/night part of the game.
Day play with others. Night play solo on the main quest line. Im not sure if it stays that way all the way up the lvls but so far its been lots of fun.
It also gives you the option to skip the main quest line.
At anytime you can go to night, and work some more on the main quest.
I still havent figured out all the zone stuff. Normal/epic?
Right this min. The servers are down. I bet those poor guys are about to go insain puting out fires.

It goes into a fast day/night cycle on the mainland, about 2? hours = 24 hours in game.

Normal is... normal? Epic is mostly for group dungeons at a high level. (6 man)

Yeah, just found this out the hard way. Bummer as they'll come back online just as my lunch break is ending.
Guess I'll farm a few ecto in GW instead...

It sounds wicked indeed :)
It should be available in all stores in Europe from tomorrow. I assume you can already get in the stores in the US.
Everybody that has the game already does have buddy keys, but the codes are still hidden. The devs won't give us the keys to give out till the initial dust settles down. Which means probably over two or three weeks, I guess.

The Witcher comparison is based on their being references to sex and partial nudity in both games.
The comparison to Guild Wars escapes me as you can jump in this game and need to be active in combat rather than hit 8 buttons in sequence. :-)
I'd rather compare the game to an "Oblivion Online" with a balanced combat system and 'mature' innuendo's.
