i need your opinion on this computer. How well do you think it will run Guild Wars, internet surfing, homework, movies (and if anyone has a good guess on the req for GW2, how well would the laptop run that)
Can find Specs here http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping...=dv9700t_series

heh, i just bought one the other day. among other things, guildwars runs fantastically on it. as for other stuff, gw2 i have no idea. WoW is just as good as guild wars for running quality. i enjoy having a laptop over a desktop. only drawback is upgrading.
cheers.

Looks like a nice laptop, especially if your dad can ''keep the price'' low ;D
Im sure it will run Guild Wars fine, the only problem with laptops generally is, gaming long hours a day takes its toll after a year or so due to the near-constant heat, unless this is one of those that houses better airflow and cooling, but i got my doubts.
Make sure you keep the receipt, so if it does burn out (literally), you can just go back & get a new one :)

do yourself a favor and get a rolodex and/or cooling pad. they might not seem like much, but it can add extra cooling where it might not always be available. i spent a combined 40 bucks for both, so its not like im breakin the bank for it. every little bit helps.
cheers.
