| Hyrkania Guild: Ampian Forerunners |
|
|
|
Oh dear, I founded another Guild :-)
Yes, the first (I think) Amp-themed Guild in Age of Conan has been created on the RP-PVE EU Server Hyrkania.
Name of the Guild: Ampian Forerunners
Members: 2 Players, 4 characters
Government style: Cimmerian (as few ranks as possible)
The motto: Scouting and preparing the Hyborian lands ahead of the invasion by the Ampian Order.
It's all very low-profile and laid back. A shared bank and a chat-channel for when not grouped and no invites from those Guilds who want 24 members for a day so they can claim a village. We're not even actively recruiting at this point though anyone fro the site is welcome.
We'll be a light-RP guild as we're on an RP server (though the actual RP is hard to find sometimes, at least the names tend not to end in -inator).
Phe and I tend to be in-character in chat with (OOC) mixed in, but we're not stuck up about it. Fun and humor are more important to us.
So, if you're an AMPer and (considering to be) playing AoC EU side, you might want to give us a wave, or a toon :-)
In-game names for me are: Suhaya & TWanni
For Phe it's: Thoay and ... er... Perapetwa or Peripetwa. Try one.

Hooray for the first Ampian guild! Thoay would delighted to invite anybody that wants to join into the fold. Peripetwa might be a bit less welcoming, but just ignore her.

Are y'all living Euro or stateside and playing on Euro servers?
The whole censorship thing kinda bummed me out. If I were to give this game a try, I'd rather get "The full Monty" so to speak. Not that the stuff they censored out of the US version is the real meat and potatoes of the game, but I would always be bothered by knowing that I was missing out on part of the design.
I just know how hard it is to run with a group of regulars if the time zones are too out of whack. And I'm not sure they'll even let us sign up for the Euro servers from here.

Well, our little Guild had a bit of a growth spurt today upon giving our (then) newest member Misantrophy (guess who) invitation rights.
Within minutes Tribina (Ranger, no surprise there), Kayla, Trinneke and others from Mutants [MU] joined up to make our Guild chat lively. Yay!
Great fun was had and with any luck this will be the new core of a thriving little community. Heck we might even meet the Guild Village requirements of 24 Members and a L40 Leader some day :-)

I don't think there's anything censored in the US version...hell, the 'mature' content flag doesn't even turn off nipples, lol.
Back on topic, I'm so bummed that I can't play on the EU servers... :(

The whole difference between the EU & US version is that the EU one has aureoles around the nipples (i.e. colored texture) and not just a little dressing-doll / Batman armor 'bump' :-)
I'm sure there's nice Guilds and communities in the US too. If you'd be playing EU Servers, you'd log on to a bunch of "Good Night!'s" for the most part. :-/
Still, I wished more MMO's had a Guild Wars alike system where you'd be able to meet up on the weekends at least.

I've given in and bought Conan, installing now, going to make the account tonight and get started.
So, any room for an aussie in this guild? Think I'll be better off in the US servers? Can you ever change servers?

Good thinking, Kikuta! And of course, you are more than welcome to join us on Hyrkania.
It only depends which version you have bought if you can join us. If you bought the EU version you are stuck with us Europeans. There are about 20 servers to chose from, but you can never switch to an American server. And if you bought the US version it is the other way around. Doh.
Of course being 6 hours ahead of most of us (even 7 hours ahead of me) might make it hard to catch us during the week. But it will give you some time to explore Tortage. That is the beginners area you spend the first 20 levels.

Damn and blast! That's a real kick in the balls, I'm pretty certain it said I have the US version of the game. If not - here's hoping not - I'll definitely head over to Hyrkania :)

When I was on the Test Live server the other day I made an Ampian Forerunners guild as well. If anyone's interested in it let me know...I was chatting with GM Haven for a while and she said that the Test Live is the only current way for US and EU folks to play together.

Oh nice! Great job, Cali. That means I'll have a change to actually meet you! Now we only need to figure out how to solve the 8 hours of time difference. And maybe I should also try to figure out how to get on the test server :)

Sadly, I do not have the HD space for two 35 GB resource hogs.
Nor is there a means to copy characters to Test like CoX has.
And given that I kinda committed a lot of time to Suhaya & the Guild there on Hyrkania, I think I'll pass on Live Test.
