| Nudity and Violence Filter |

I know about the recent petition going around about a nudity and violence filter. Have they implemented it into the game yet? Because I'm only going to get the game after they put the filter in. Thanks in advance.

I don't kn ow about any petition for such a filter. It would be a bit dumb since it is already in from the start. Called Mature Content Filter....
Wher'ed you hear about that petition?

Oh, well that solves my problem :P. I typed in "Age of Conan filter" on Google and a petition came up. Anyway, is there a way to keep the filter permanently on?

Like a lock on it?
I know they mentioned parental control for it on Vista.
But since the game is rated M for Mature and is littered with mature concepts, not just boobies and gore but things like ruthless revenge for rape-victims and outcast lepers who keep an eye on their kid who doesn't know them for his dad and stuff.
You can't filter that out.
If you're squeamish you can turn on the filter, but if it's to protect your kids from "mature content", there's no way to do that. But to be honest, I see more immature 'maturity' stuff in games that are Teen rated than in this game. There's really no way an arbitrary filter can stand in for parental involvement in kids' play.
I'm pretty libertarian about parenting that way. I would not put this game to a kid under 14 though, which means most parents would put that bar at 16 or 18 if they blindly follow ESRB ratings.

I would quit if they ever added a permanent filter, the gore of the blood splattering on the screen when you get a fatality and more blood coming out of a spider than could possibly be in it is one of the funnest things to look at in this game. I'm 14 by the way.

Seriously, the filter exists, and is permanent. Won't go away. With German clients it's on by default and the US client misses aureole's around the nipples of breasts. *yawn* When turned on, it won't drop like a pair of poorly fitting brass plate brah's and as such is really permanent. It's otpional though. People can choose to turn it on or off. Fatalities will still happen, but without the 'red candlewax' effects. Girls can still go topless, but with fitting doll breasts in stead.
Too be honest, AoC isn't that much more 'mature', or maybe it's just that AoC is more honest about it. Stuff fits, it's not hush hush and please ignore the female elementalists giving lap-dances in their underwear in Teen rated Guild Wars or 16 different skin-colors you can match to your bikini's coloring as in CoX. So far, I've seen only two topless lasses running around town, and one of them had an RP excuse for it :-) The other was also 4 years under the recommended age and too dumb to do 'it' in a private instance.

Yea, my filter is turned off right now but I'm not one of the kids who goes running around yelling "Look, my char has nipples on her boobies!" although I have seen someone do that, was just saying that having the blood and gore and all that really does make the game funner.

For what it's worth, my US cliant shows aureoles, and the mature content filter only removes gore, not the nudity.

The filter on MY PC does not affect YOUR game in any way, so no, most people wouldn't be as retarded as you and quit the game over something THAT WON'T AFFECT THEM. Idiot.
