So I made a Monk. Just wondering if there was a good PvE Healing build, and if anyone has any tips on monk.

healers boon build, one of my favourites..
but if this is ur 1st monk.. then its gonna take a while to unlock all necessary skills to variate ur builds.. + if u dont have all campaings etc..
but good choice, ive monked a lot ;)

signet of rejunvecation or whatever
dwayna's kiss
orison of healing
Healing breeze (optional, used for degen areas)
dismiss condition
holy veil
res sig / balanced stance or anything you like, return maby
just a plain idea I *USED* to run, worked fine for me but modify it however you like ;)

Part of the fun of being a monk (I've been monking for 2 years now) is coming up with builds not found on pvx xD.
The PvX builds and the HB build, are all awesome, but I know for a fact that creating your own builds is fun and also very effective.
Since your a beginner using the other builds is probably your best bet, but after you've done it awhile experiment with skills, it's fun.
Just remember.
1) Energy Managment- Any profession's build is useless if you don't manage your energy right. For healers this is ESPECIALLY important.
2) Hex/Condition Removal- Unless your smiting of course, although smite hex/condition is still useful in PvE. Most places need this, so bring at least one for either or. EX: Dismiss Condition, Cure Hex ((remove hex has a shorter recharge, but I bring cure hex cus it heals more))
3) Does it do it's Job?- If your suppose to heal but your heals heal for low amounts or you use more prot skills then healing, your build will fall through. The opposite is true if your running a prot build.

If your team is any good you normally only need one or 2 hard rezzes normally somewhere in your midline. You can't have a monk casting one skill for 3-6 seconds in the middle of a battle only time this would be useful is if rest of team wipes which shouldn't happen if you're playing properly.

seems u failed there.. in pve monks need rez. in pve usually monks stay behind and alive to res other than in pvp where usually monks are the targets to kill first.
PvP monk: no res
PvE monk: res
Please, never give advice on how to play Mo in pve again. Someone might actually listen to you.

ok, i'm going to ask nicely, please dont turn this into another one of 'those' threads.
in pve a monk doesnt need a res, but its no biggie if they do carry one. Our guild leader never carries a res on his bar and we rarely have problems.
if your going full h/h, maybe take a res as theyre usually to stupid to all run out of fire storm or whatever AoE is going on. but if there are 8 players in the team you shouldnt really have too. as your team should be smart enough to all scatter and position themselves well enough without relying on the monk to heal that unnecessary damage.
i personally always tend to carry a res, but have done things where i havent. but even then, you have res shrines most of the time in pve. meh, always leave 1 skill optional, just incase you think you might need one

But ya, it's not nessecarily a must if you know what your doing. Don't get arrogant though lol.

I'm not sure why it was necessary to quote that but when I said "any good" I didn't mean a perfect team I meant one thats not party wiping every time they go in to battle. An elementalist, necro, ranger, or whatever can rez just as well as a monk can after the fight.If the monk is rezzing during the fight hes not healing or protting for the next 3-6 seconds which will most likely lead to more deaths which just isn't worth it. Stick a flesh of my flesh, rez chant, or death pact signet somewhere in your midline and you should be good on rezzes. Have each player carry a res scroll if you can just for emergencies in places like fow/uw or a difficult mission that you can fail out of. I didn't mean to sound elitist but if you take that advice along with having a decent team your success should go up a lot because your monk wont be wasting time rezzing and he will have an additional skill to make himself more efficient.
