A/Rt Brutal Weapon Spike 

Ok, so I am thinking making my first sin char (and this is my first Build Post) and am currently researching the build and secondary professions before persuing any further. I read the post about there not being many A/Rt chars and took up the call. Here is what I am looking at right now.

P.S. I looked at Lord Vox's Guide to Guides and I want everyone to know that I have NOT tested this build and that is because I am currently deployed to Iraq with the U.S. Army and can not get on the game to do it. So I apologize now for that.

Attributes:

Crit Strikes 12+3+1
Dagger Mastery 9+2
Shadow Arts 5+1
Deadly Arts 0

Communing 8
Channeling 0
Restoration 0

That should leave you with 197/200 points used.

Also I proposed using a Sup Vigor (Maj Vigor if you can't get Sup) and the rest would be Runes of Vitae and Radiant Insignias wherever you deem necessary. With one Rune of Vitae, one Sup Vigor, and five Radiant Insignias, and a weapon with +5 energy you should get to 430 health and 33 energy.

The skill bar goes like this:

Unsuspecting Strike
Fox Fang
Twisting Fangs
Moebius Strike
Shadow Refuge
Death's Charge
Viper's Defense
Brutal Weapon

The biggest problems that I am forseeing are E-Management and maybe health depending on how well you avoid damage.

The use I am looking at is casting Brutal Weapon then using Death's Charge to move to your target. Then obviously Unsuspecting Strike, Fox Fang, Twisting Fangs and Moebius Strike. That should cause 254 damage in all armor ignoring bonus damage plus 21 seconds of bleeding and a deep wound. Then if you leave the area with Viper's Defense that will be 11 seconds of poison on top of that. Now I DID NOT account for any of the damage from your normal dagger attacks or the +10 bonus damage that those attacks would get from the Brutal weapon. I think that is a pretty good spike. Like I said I haven't tested it yet, but let me know what everyone thinks.

Some variants I haven't figured out quite how to work into it include using:

Guided Weapon
Vengeful Weapon
Weapon of Warding

Guided Weapon seems to use too much energy to me, but with it you can easily add in Repeating Strike since it won't miss. Vengeful and Warding are both in Restoration Magic which you would need to drop Brutal and the points in Communing for Restoration.


Side Note:

Ok I tried to find how to make the skills picture thing where the explanation pops up when you hover over it, but I couldn't find out how to do it. Would greatly appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.

Someone will need to test in to see if its good.
But when you are using moebius strike the best thing to do is taking Death Blossom with it.
Because moebius is now the end of your combo(i think)
Then you can spam moebius+death blossom with brutal weapon and that might spike well.
Just put zealous mod on your daggers and you have less energy probls

He's going to spike, not spamming Death Blossom.

For a spike you could better take a regular Trampling Ox sin and a Brutal Weapon ritualist with you if you want to use that spell.

I don't know what a Trampling Ox sin build looks like. And just like any other build that uses a secondary, you can usually take someone else along to do it for you while you are attacking, but then, that is good team work. I am not saying taking a Rt wouldn't make it work better, it probably would, but then I could say that about most builds. And a question, I don't know if it will work, but if two Rt use the weapon spell, would that make everyone have double bonus damage?

No. You can't stack Weapon Spells.

I have also been playing with the idea of running an A/N with Barbs. If you use the skill Critical Strike, after Moebius Strike in the string, with Barbs cast on the foe, that is a total run of 270 armor ignoring bonus damage, not counting any dagger damage or extra double strikes outside of the dual strike skills. The only bad thing I am seeing it that it is cast of a foe and not ally so when you kill that person you would have to cast it on the next foe too. There is also Order of Pain, but that requires a 17% health sacrifice and is only for 5 seconds. Hhhhmmmm....maybe using Aura of the Lich with Order of Pain, but that is starting to spread thin going with additional Blood and Death Magic. Will have to play around with it when I can. If anyone tries any of these builds please let me know what you find out, I would be very glad to get some feedback from anyone using or trying them.

Hmm well I have yet to see the idea you are toying with for the barbs build but to be honest I dont think that the brutal weapon one is a good idea it looks to energy heavy, and the fact that you have to put a +5 energy mod on your weapon just to use it proves that. Also 430 health is much to low to use this build for PvP at the very least you should be aiming for around 600hp but if this build works well for PvE then alrighty then but the main points are; too many high energy skills plus the initial cast of the weapon spell, not enough health, not really enough energy :\

Brutal weapon doesnt work with enchantments which becomes a huge draw back. You can't use it with any monk prot and you can't use it with a conjure or crit agility. If you want a + damage spell having great dwarf weapon cast on you is your best bet. If thats not an option conjure is good +dmg as well. If you want just a pure spike a trampling ox build is probably your best bet. In pve mobeous+DB spam with crit agility is the highest dps tho.

i know that changing your attack chain would drop down the spike damage but, if you were to change it to something like jagged strike, fox fangs and then critical strike, you would not have to use so much energy. this would also net you some energy back with critical strike.

What is a conjure? Is that a sin thing or another profession? And I don't have Eye of the North, so Great Dwarf Weapon isn't an option to me yet.

I don't know what weapon yet, I don't know much about sin equipment yet so haven't gotten to that part of the build. And yes I really am in Iraq. Oh and haha at you for saying fibbing ^,^

Yeah I have to look at something for better e-management I think, but I don't want to get rid of Twisting Fangs either. Need that Deep Wound.

I would suggest using a Conjure Flame build, its an Elementalist skill that adds damge every time you hit with a fire weapon, you could also try a Conjure Frost or Conjure Lighting. What I suggest for a weapon is A Fiery Thunderfist's Brass Knuckles of (anything) with a 15^50 inion. Since you get these from a a relitively easy quest anyone can get them for you, they are an EotN weapon but you can still get them. And why you thank me for saying fibbing?

ok, that adds burning too right? And I wasn't thanking you for saying fibbing, I was laughing at you for saying fibbing. Haven't heard that word since I was like 6.

if you replaced moebius strike with crit strike i dont think you would lose to much in the way of repeatability because with the energy intensive chain you have now, even with an instant recharge of the chain itself, you have to wait for energy regen. with your current attributes, you have a net gain of 7 energy when you use critical strike, it is 9 if you are using a zealous pair of daggers. this could be the energy boost your build needs to make it more viable.

If your going ele, why not use Mark of Rodgort instead? That way every time you hit you cause burning? According to Wiki with 8 in Fire, it lasts for 23 seconds and causing 3 seconds of burning per hit. Burning is -7 health degen (the highest single condintion). That seems to me better than a Conjure Flame build. But one thing I was wondering with the Conjure Flame build, it causes extra fire damage, but is that counted as direct damage (armor ignoring) or just regular fire damage?

It would seem so....

Edit: But now that I re-read it, it says is unaffected by increased armor against elemental or fire damage, but it doesn't say is unaffected by armor. So does that mean that is would be unaffected by say, Mantra of Fire, but it still has to account for a warrior's normal armor?

The site needs some or so if im right, wiki has it, my first guild used to have it aswell. its very usefull. Tho GA aint using it. So ofc you didnt find it :p
