i have just dinged 40 and needed some insight on what Patron powers to take. i have decided on Mako, but when i searched for mission overviews(in COV missions info) from this contact there are none to be found. is this a bad sign?? should i not follow the path of the shark???? please help.

No, not a bad sign. Just means that there is some cred for you to earn by submitting the contact/mission info :)
I've personally done the Mako arc with one of my Stalkers and it was very interesting to say the least.

I'm confused, do you need info about Captain Mako's missions as a contact, or the Leviathan Mastery Patron Power Pool set?
If it's the first, here's his Wiki on everything you need to know about Mako, including missions.
And if it's the latter, then you can either find his statue in the Patron hall (the big hall you enter when going into Grandville's main building), and click on the plaque below it, which will give you detailed info about every power for all Archetypes from the Leviathan Mastery set. You can also check the other patron's powers like this.
Otherwise, here's the Leviathan Mastery Wiki, but the statue's info is more detailed.

Seeing that we would never take anyone else's information and make it our own....I was actually advising to collect the data, in game, and post it on the site in the Contact section, Example.
All it usually requires is taking screenshots of the conversations you have with Mako when he gives you the missions and adding any other info you feel may be pertinent to the other Ampers.
You'll receive Cred for each Contact mission update that you add...so, if you're starting the Mako arc, start tracking those conversations and detailed info and share with the rest of us.
