Hero to Villain...

Ok, since VEATS came out, i really wanted to make one, and since im stuck to heroes like...White on Rice. I wanted to convert to a Super Hero, to a Maniac Villain. And since all my friends are Hero side (you guys) its hard to move, So i wanna learn how to forget about Heroes, can focus on Villains.

Any tips? I really need them, Heroes for me are like drugs, or smoking.

*Cred for the most helpful tip here

Immerse yourself in the GAmeamp CoV community. And if you still really wanna be a hero, make a history for your villain as an undercover longbow agent (or something similar) trying to get the goods on Lord Recluse from the inside.

RE: Hero to Villain...

There are lots of gameampers that play both sides. I know Warron does and so does Ron. Think Don does too, and I know Phase and Rainah are. Hook up with them on the gameamp channel and find out when they are on. There's also several gameamp VG's. Get in one of those by asking one of the aforementioned individuals.

As far as backstories, the undercover thing is good. Could also be under the mind control of a Widow, constantly in torture for the evil things she makes you do.

Or, since on the villain side your also mostly fighting villains, you are a hero who lost a brother/lover/child/etc to a villain and decided you weren't going to hold to a strict moral code any more. It was kill em all and let god sort em out, which meant you couldn't hang on the blue side anymore. And that also occasionally brings you into conflict with the authorities, i.e. longbow.

Or maybe your just looking for a long lost brother/lover/child/etc who went over to the red side so you had to follow to find him/her.

RE: Hero to Villain...

The thing about COV to me is that it does not give you the feel of being a villain. More of a rebel to me.

The missions are virtually the same. Instead of a rescue its called kidnap. You still have to "lead" someone to the door. Click glowies, defeat _____ and his crew, and at one point you do battle with your own Patron.

Starwolf has the right idea. Just approach it with the right mindset and you should be fine.

I look at CoV as CoH with different Archetypes, Powers and Missions. It's fun. :) If you're looking to team, make yourself some kind of a Kinetics Corruptor. People love it. If you prefer soloing, go the Brute or Mastermind route. I find Brutes to be the thing that makes CoV fast paced fun.

RE: Hero to Villain...

Well...seeing I started as a Hero and didn't think I could make the transition to a Villain...now i'm finding it hard to play the Hero side anymore (they keep inticing me to come back...Darn Ryders!!!!)

I'd say take some of the above advice. Remake one of your Heroes on the Villain side and give them a secret mission/purpose for running around the Rogue Isles.

A background story could explain why they changed power sets to better fit in, some extra training to get ready for the trials ahead, why you selected a certain Patron to follow (maybe have that be the climax of the story line).

Then begin your journey...

Or...

You can treat it like dark, mirrored image of yourself (yeah, that's far fetched...i know...Praetorians and all) and explore what your badside would look like.

Lots of options to choose from to make the transition over to the Red side....come on over and join us, we'd be delighted to show you the ropes :)

RE: Hero to Villain...

At one point, I made Aurora Australis, which was a Praetorian version of Aurora Borealis. (I then deleted her and made her heroside when Willpower came out, but that's another story) So you could even go that route, making a Praetorian version of a notable heroside character.
