new guild leader

I was inactive for several months and i was a leader of a small inactive guild. i got back on today, i have more free time and have decided to start playing again, but i am no longer the leader of my guild. i am an officer. and the leader is someone else that said he became the new leader automatically. I have put all the money in my guild and i have made the guild by myself. i think of it as my guild and would like the be leader again. I didn't know it was possible for me to lose that position. has this happened to anyone else? how do i go about getting my leadership position back?

RE: new guild leader

Sadly A-net will do nothing for you. The only 2 ways you can get it back is...
#1 Have the person in charge promote you.
#2 For the current guild leader to be inactive for 60 days. Then the officer that has the most time in the guild will get promoted to Leader. Only thing is, If you promoted a officer same day you made or bought the guild and they are still in the guild there is a chance if they are active they could get it, all random at that point.

I had it happen to me and here is what I got from A-net

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Guild Wars Support. We are unable to designate guild leaders for any reason. If you so choose, you may either leave your guild, wait for the player that you designated to log in again, or wait 60 days, after which time the leadership of the guild will revert to another officer. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may present for you and your guild. Please let us know if you have any more questions and we will be more than happy to assist you!

Regards,
The Guild Wars Support Team

Hope this helps and good luck=)
