| Dragon Festival 08 Approaches! |

Just announced on the Guildwars Official Site
| QUOTE | This year's Dragon Festival features some of the most popular events and mini-games from previous years. Participants earn [[Victory Tokens]], which can be redeemed for treats such as red bean cakes and bottles of rice wine. Adventure-seekers can also reenact key moments and battles from Cantha's illustrious past.
On the last day of the festival, [[Emperor Kisu]] will make appearances within Shing Jea Monastery to kick off the final reenactment. In his infinite charity, the Emperor will also present a gift to all who have proven their festival spirit by collecting 250 Victory Tokens throughout the weekend: a new demonic mask, specially crafted for this year's Festival to commemorate Cantha's victory over the forces of evil that attacked the Festival in years past. [[Imperial Supply Master Kagno]] will remain in Shing Jea Monastery for one week following the festival to give attendees who missed the finale a chance to redeem their 250 Victory Tokens for the new mask.
The games and quest reenactments are available all weekend long, but missions and the finale occur on a set schedule. Missions are active for 30 minutes after the call to arms goes out, and Emperor Kisu will make scheduled appearances every two hours from 2:00 AM until 10:00 PM on Sunday, July 6.

I think a Grasps of Insanity mask will be a tad bit better than the demon mask from last years event. Assuming the image on the announcement page is any indication of what mask this year will bring.

Lets hope those masks will be better, last year was a rather big dissapointment.

Skip all masks add a new simple but cool armor for some profession, not a 15k one. Maybe a 1 man dungeon in PRE searing x)
New computer by then, maybe i'll get rid of those 5 fps in towns :D

Aside from the short quest chain and farming monsters for event items, the festival missions are just another way for players to get Victory Tokens.
If this years event is anything like last year, then yes, there should be collectors. For certain there will be a some sort of victory token collector for the mask and a few for festival goodies (booze, sweets, fireworks)
I'm not sure what the 'smart' thing to do is as that varies from player to player. These events are a great way to earn various title points. Other players also make tons of gold from selling festival items. Just have fun and be sure to stick around for the mask! LOL

The collectors were looking for victory tokens.
Have a look at last years Dragon Festival summary on wiki.
Dragon Festival 2007
Given Anets current trend of yearly events, its a safe bet that this years festival will be similiar to the previous one. At least you can get an idea of what to expect.

Starting playing recently since I have a break off my schooling......maxed my Tyrian cartography title(after literally 1+ year), 99.1% elonian(will be maxing shortly), and an event starting a week before my classes start up again. Good timing Anet. :P

Grats man, i managed to get Tyrian and Elonian 100% now, been playing nearly 30 months now and ''my main'' character is now around 23 months old, so well over a year, im slower then you, and i take pride in that.
Anyways, you'll get sick with Elona soon enough, it has some places which just makes your head spin.
Dragon Festival has the boardwalk stuff i presume, so walking there might yield some extra 0.1%'s, always handy.

Nah, What I meant is its been almost a year since I seriously played. Stopped playing shortly after my chars 2nd birthday and here I am 33 months played on him and am just now maxing the titles I had close to maxing from his 2nd birthday. :P

Pah, rollin' out the big guns aye?
Been playing actively (and by that it states 3003 hours, 25 minutes in 29 months) and in total i only have abstained from touching/thinking/feeling/being Guild Wars for 3 months, i outfail you still, it took me longer to acquire not just the Tyrian Cartographer title, but any title at all.
(ofcourse, i do have compensation for that, such as too much characters for one person to handle.)

Fine, you phail moar......2,114 hours played.....but 856 of those on my main (my warrior). :P As for characters, I have every class lvl 20 but a rit, and I have a pvp slot open aswell. Getting the Elona carto title will push me up to r1 KoaBD aswell. :)

I dont know what i am missing in factions map but i am prettty sure I got the event areas down I guess i go AFK for a week in game to get my lucky title up more LOL .

Hmm. So many titles too many decisions.
I am about 250K lucky points away from golden
1000 gamer points from numchuck skillz
6.5K minutes from ale-hound (so I need the alcohol)
Think I will do dragon arenas to get victory tokens for alcohol and gamer points for title. Then go AFK for lucky. I shuold have enough time to get to 1M points. Don't think I will ever get 2.5M though.
If all goes well I'll have all my non-purchased PvE titles done by that weekend so nothing better to work on :).
The true test of any technology is its ability to obtain porn.
