| Strange Message During Encounters |

I have completed the first round of DS2 and have started the second round as a Veteran and with every encounter for PC and NPC the following text scrolls throughout the encounter: a character name is displayed followed by "can not retain anymore buffs". It doesn't seem to hinder games play, but I was just wondering what it means and how to get rid of it.

If i understand this correctly you get that line whilst talking to someone. If its like that i cannot help never had anything alike.
But normaly that line means a char has 2buffs from a nature mage or a pet and e third as fos or ba. And you trie to ad one to that list which is impossible
