RE: GW:P, GW:F, GW:NF, GW:EN, Money Wize?

Best combination would probably be GW:F with EotN. GW:F gives access to Assassins with Shadow Form, and EotN gives access to glyph of swiftness which can be used in conjunction with Deathly Paradox (factions) to keep Shadow Form up as long as you want. Known as perma-SF, it basically makes all spells cast on you fail, and all attacks miss. Note that this means any non-spell skills (signets, those classified as "skill", those who do not need a target to cast and touch) will still affect you, so you are not completely in invulnerable, but there are many areas in the game (such as some parts of UW) which are easily farmable with perma-SF.

That being said, if you must farm and you can only get 2 of them, get Factions and EotN, it currently has one of the best combined skillsets for general farming.

Now, if you are limited to only one, I might be alone, note that EotN (as you call it, GW:EN) is an EXPANSION, meaning it will not work without one of the other games, so that can be eliminated instantly. As for general farming, I would say 55-monking would be a good one for starters. Though the main skills of a 55-monk are core skills (which means available to all games) some very useful skills like balthazar's spirit (gain 1 energy when you take damage) and its semi-counterpart essence bond (gain 1 energy on only physical and elemental damage), are prophecies only.

There are other farm builds, I'm just going off the currently most popular(perma-Shadowform) and the one I know best(55-monking). That being said, see what others have to say before going off just what I say. :P

i would agree with mwpeck, if you can only get one get prophecies. i would get gwen and prophecies personally because there are many places in both that can be farmed with things other than an assassin such as a 55 hp monk or some forms of a terra tank ele. prophecies is a great choice because unlike gwen, factions and nightfall, there are many groups of single types of enemies. anet did a better job making groups hard to farm in the successive installments of this game by putting in massive amounts of enchantment removal and degeneration and just a wider variety of monsters that bring different things that need to be countered to the table.

Welcome to GameAmp

For what you asked for I would say Crimson named the best options. Although Bubbada Muse, did point out the Terra Tank which can work very nicely as well. Best of luck in the farming. ^.^

Edit: Terratanks are also a good choice as stated above. There are different variations of the skill choices which will depend very well on the area you are farming. With that being said, there is not really one campaign that would benefit this build entirely. Perma Shadow form, is one of the easier as well as most profitable atm imo, if you will have access to Factions as well as EOTN, if not I would suggest 55 monk build and Tyria or the first campaign. The post(S) before me summed it up in a nut shell.

You'll also need the -50hp cesta for the 55-monk build, which is a prophesies quest reward. You could buy it of course if you got another campaign, but then if you want to make money it would be better to get it for free through normal gameplay (it's available early on in post-searing).

Factions does have the better farming skills (sf for example) though.

RE: GW:P, GW:F, GW:NF, GW:EN, Money Wize?

Prophecies(dont know how its spelled) is easily the funniest of the games and then Factions.

Proph = Story, characters, environments, (Had) people, fun missions, worth the bucks.

Factions = Plug n' play, not much of a game for starters, jump into the fun at once. Quite short for us exp players but had easily the best "new" feeling after proph. Assassins and Ritualists.

Nightfall = Heroes (Booring, dumb and takes time), ong storyline, booring missions and areas, not as much variation as proph, paragon and dervish (both quite boring compared to RT and Assassin if u ask me). Introduced inions, BAD Anet -_-''

GW:Eotn = Funny cause it starts at level 20, (now lvl 10 -_-''), gave something new and fun areas. Some cool new stuff to do and alot dumb farming places that ruins the game's economy (Not good profit now). Funny quests and missions, love the areas <3.

I'd go with Proph + EOTN or Factions later if u like it. As people suggest i DONT think new players start to play to farm. I make money without farming, all u need is 10k to start with and patience .

RE: GW:P, GW:F, GW:NF, GW:EN, Money Wize?

In the Economy GW has right now the best way to make money is using power trade(for me it is a lame way to gain easy money.) U buy rare items like the new ones from Design a Weapon contest( they drop in all campaings) from newbs that don't now the real value.

example:

A player who joines an Ursan team gets an Obsidian Edge(worth 100k + 40-100e I think) He goes advertising in Kamadan/Lions Arch. "WTS Obsidan Edge Whisp offers" A power trader sees this and offers 100k 20e and sells them for 100k 60e.

Another easy way is to make predictions every month for the Automated Tournaments. You only need the battle Ilse(any campaing has this) A week after the Tournament you gain Tournament Reward points(if you have correct predictions) that U can exchange for Zaishen Keys. You can sell these for 5-6k. or use them for a Unlimited Rare tonic.

Then their is the way I use. U farm. Well not really but you do dungeons in EotN to gain the Rarer weapons that are worth some money. But make sure that U are up to date with your Prices. Check Guru's Auctions or GWAuctions.org.

IF you don't like any of these ways U can follow Everdreams Guide. It is on the Front page.

Still need to have NF to get it. All tomes do is let you learn a skill without having to go to a skill trainer/capping it. For instance, putting Shadow Form on my Mesmer, she is still in Kaineng center in factions (no further) so I just used an elite sin tome since I had it unlocked. Had I not had factions, I wouldnt have it unlocked therefore I wouldnt have been able to learn it.

So what's the situation if, for example, you don't own NF but you buy the NF PvP skill unlock pack? Technically the skill will be unlocked on your account and you should be able to use a tome for it, but would the skill icon have the padlock overlay stopping you from using it?

That is what I thought once you unlock it (PvP wise) you could use a tome and have it PvE wise. I just figured, once you unlock a skill PvP wise and can go to a skill trainer in a town and buy it you could use a tome to get it as well.

Edit: I meant you could go to say Ascalon and get the skill that normally is not offered until Ember Light Camp. Since you have it unlocked it in PvP you can get it in Ascalon. Tomes do not work the same way? Once a skill is unlocked in PvP you must have the campaign that the skil came from in order to use a tome on it for PvE? Is that what is being said?

What about a PvP unlock?

Cant quite do that though:

QUOTE
Although, you cannot buy, for example, the Nightfall skill unlock pack if you do not own Nightfall or the PvP access kit.

Which means you MUST already own Nightfall OR the PvP access kit, and owning the PvP access kit + the skill unlock basically means you cannot use those skills outside of PvP, even if you use tomes.

Tomes work the same way for the most part. You can use a tome in town to get any skill from any campaign you have. If you have the PvP access kit for a game (say nightfall) and you have every skill unlocked, you can use all the tomes you want but your PvE characters do not have access to Nightfall therefore the tomes will NOT show you any Nightfall skills. Anet was smart when they made the skill system, you MUST have PvE access to a skill to get it on a PvE character. To get PvE access to a skill you MUST own that campaign.

They just allow those who only want to PvP to buy to PvP access kit and the unlock pack to use those skills in PvP only.

That being said you could PvP with all the skills in the game, but only have prophecies skills available to your PvE character.
