Well I finally got the game up and running, and I made a couple of new characters:
Sikandar, level 10 Herald of Xotli
Aleksa, level 2 Ranger
and Kristoffen, level 6 Conqueror
They're all on the Dagoth server as well, but that's beside the point.
I'm currently LOVING my HoX.
Ahhhh just running around in a dress, turning into demons, spewing fire, and decapitating people with my massive sword is everything that I wanted in an MMO.
The only thing is that I'm having trouble killing ranged characters.. I don't really have any ranged attacks yet.
Are there any pieces of equipment, advice, or feats that could help me?

Great news you got the game going! You have picked almost the same three classes me. I went for Herald, Ranger and Guardian. All three are in their 30s now, and they are all three great fun.
As Herald you will have to wait till level 50 till you can use a crossbow, I believe. Before you reach level 50 you can use throwing weapons (throwing knives, throwing axes, throwing spears). They do drop at random from the mobs you kill, but you might want to check at the trader if there are some for sale cheap. They usually are.
But you will only use your ranged weapons to pull mobs out of a crowd. The damage they do is quite pathetic. The best thing to do with ranged foes is to either run within melee range or run around a corner and let them come to you.
