~Lucky MacLuckerton~ PH.D In Awesome, M.A. In Madness, B.A. In Relax (with a minor in World Domination) It's so nice to be insane, no one asks you to explain!
HAHA.I was shocked i even saw rap in this fourms But I guess it is A aquired music taste since eevery one is intrested in music that well is quite intresinting ,
Indeed, and one's Definition of music differs, for me listening to a 3 second music on a loop while someone is shouting in the Mic pretending to be street wise is not appreciated, others do, simple :D

sexy kanna's on a 6 second loop ;)
and yea, i get tired of Rap and Techno really, really fast.. taken all into consideration i was at Mark Knophler (Dire Straights) concert on Tuesday this week, that i can honestly say was amazing and defintately is classed as "real music" with real writing and real talent.
he played a bit from all albums, Romeo and Juliet for the first standing ovation ;)
always nice to see one of the Top 10 guitar gods in person =)
Top 3 in my mind:
Brent Mason (Studio Musicial, can play anything better than the original artist, his own stuff cannot be replicated by other players)
Brad Paisley (Guitar World ranked in the Top 5, likely the fastest guitar player on earth, plays stink hard licks that Mason would surely take some practice to get, unique sound though old Vox and Dr. Z Amps)... to boot he's also a singer and writer.
Mark Knophler (Guitar God supreme, tone freak, impossible to replicate his exact sound, doesn't play with a pick, singer, writer

I have that for FoF (The song) and got 97% notes hit on expert ED. = D
cool, now all ya need to do is play it in real life ;)
edit: ps in good music selection for Frets on Fire =) this man will become legendary, though he already has likely over 100M sitting in the bank, a hot wife, and no adictions to piss all his money away on. hehe.
he sounds as good live as in concert, unlike most 'shredder' players who just make up whatever and the audience is so tweaked that it just doesn't matter ;)

Indeed, it feels great to be able to play one of your favorite songs on guitar :P About a year ago I learned how to play Cliffs of Dover - Eric Johnson

listened to Cliffs of Dover... good song.
Throttle Neck's way, way more complex in terms of chords, faster, and well, much more difficult to play in real.

this is another good song: its by Motley Crue, their new song, "Saints of L.A." :
and by a norwegian glam band called "Wig Wam", "in my dreams":
*Disclaimer* I know the bands are cheezy but for the future, I am the last surviving person i know who likes Glam Metal.

No, no no, youre not the only one. I love Glam/Hair Metal. One of my favorite rock eras, even though I wasnt around for it. Almost all of my favorite music is from the 80's and earlier.
yea, i'm probably one of the few persons on this form that will openly admit to listening to country music 80% of the time ;)
i do appreciate classic rock, blues and jazz.
i like to listen to metal sometimes too, especially to get pumped up about something.
i do admire metal and hair band guitar players and their unique styling-cues, but the guitar work they play isn't overly difficult to play, though it may be called

That was beast...
by basis of sounding cool, it's not very high up on actual talent basis... an easy comparo would be to SRV (Stevie Ray Vaughn) from the 80's compared to ALL the other 80's guitar players, his raw talent with the fret board on a guitar is indisputable and likely one of the greatest ever to live, certainly #1 from that Era of music.
Jimi Hendrix, though creative and amazing in his own regard as a 'Guitar Hero' wasn't all that masterful of a player, he seldomly could play the exact same thing twice with the same chords and sound from concert to concert (this happens when you do a ton of narcotics) so, you never knew if you were gonna get good jimi or bad jimi.
though i also like 80's music, i can say that it doesn't hold a candle to the music from the 60's and early 70's ... 90's music was quite possibly worse than the 1980's, music now just tends to blow based on actual talent... talent's been replaced by marketing and image.
