I've currently made 3 characters on Dagoth server. Do any ampers play on it? Do any ampers play on any other US servers that would be willing to play with me? I would be willing to re-roll my Cimerrian Ranger and my Aquilonian Conqueror in order to play with some friendly ampers.
Thanks in advance,
Panzer

Hey, although technically not an AMPer, i did play Guildwars alongside some AMPers, i played with Trib when he had the [MU] alliance with [HeDa] and [DoH] and [DL]
I bought AoC yesterday but the shop had run out of gametime cards so im heading back on monday to see if they have any in stock, and if they dont well then ive already used the paybycash website to buy 60days time wich i should get sometime next week.
I was looking forward to playing with some AMPers aswel but then noticed that the bulk majority are on the Euro servers wich we have no access to... pity really.
Was hoping some US AMPers would say wich server they were using so i could hang out with them but if none say by the time i start playing i guess ill move to the Oceanic Server so i can atleast play with people in the same timezone.
Anyways .. cant wait till i can start playing, from what ive read and seen on screenshots this game looks like its going to be great.. and i really did need a change from Guildwars :)

Well look for a Herald of Xotli on Dagoth server named Sikandar. He's my main, and I'm loving every minute of playing him. Good luck with the game.

The Legion of Order on the Gwahlur Server is looking for players. We are willing to give you a Buddy Program trial if you give our guild a trial as well. The supply is very limited and only serious gamers should apply. Goto http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?Guil...5&TabID=2193818
or http://legionoforder.guildportal.com to apply to guild and read details.
Everybody who has purchased a Collector’s Edition can now invite up to five friends, who can try the game for seven days without purchasing a retail box.
The invitation process is easy. You need to log-in to your account pages (https://register.ageofconan.com), and choose “Buddy program”. Follow the on-screen instructions, and then write a personal message to your friends if you so desire.
We recommend that you lend your install DVDs to your buddy to get him or her ready to play as fast as possible. Alternatively your buddy will be offered a $2,99/€2,99 client download with 3 additional days of playtime to cover the download time.
While this offer is only for Collector’s Edition accounts for now, we will soon open up for the Buddy key found in the standard retail box as well.

Hey all,
I'm going to pick the game up tomorrow and give it a shot for a while. That means I'd love to track some folks down on the US server that are fellow AMPers. Drop me a line on here if you have a guild or are willing to help a newb through the first little bit of the game.
Cheers!

Yay! Good choice, Beano! Too bad I won't see you in-game but the forum and screenshot sections here are wide open :) Enjoy your first steps on the beach of Tortage.

Looks like you'll be waiting for another day. The Wal-Mart in my rinky-dinky Canadian town didn't have any copies. And being that it's a holiday here, no other stores were open. I'll see if I can't track one down tomorrow!
Thanks gang!

Just a warm welcome to fellow ampers from the GW side :-)
Play it slow- enjoy the quests, the lore and storylines are well worth sitting back and listening to during your first 20 lvls after that (with the exception of your destiny quests which are still spoken) sit back and enjoy the read :)
It is a shame us EU crowd can't mix with the US crowd ingame :(

Thanks EG!
Well, I've just spent the last hour installing the game (form the discs) and now I'm waiting for a 1.61 GB patch to download on my slow ADSL connection. Please tell me it's worth it...

Glad you're enjoying it :-)
A word of caution: While on Tortage, the game is pretty much like a Single player RPG where YOU are the Mos Important Person in The World (well Tortage anyway) with people falling over themselves to voice-over quest and story lines and generally suck up to you. Messianic prophecies will do that :-)
After Tortage, it's a bit different. You're no longer The Most Important Person, just one of many former slaves of Acheron trying to recollect his or her memories. There's also fewer voice-overs and you occasionally have to walk more than 10 paces before stumbling over your next Quest Giver. No conveniently small squares and marketplaces with every stallholder anxious for you to solve his or her personal problems or save the universe.
I.e. after leaving Tortage there's a bit of a change of player experience that some people found disconcerting enough, (it is a bit of a let down, coming from hallowed hero to just another adventurer/vagabond) that they decided to miss out on 95% of the game. So be prepared for that. There's no real let-down in cool, interesting and fascinating content until around Level 60+ and they're working on that. it does change focus a bit after L20 though.
P.s. Compare this a bit to going from lush, green pre-searing Ascalon to the wasteland of post-searing Ascalon. For some Revenge for the searing gave them motivation (like restoring your memories is the motivation for post-Tortage gameplay) while for others this was when they abandoned Guild Wars.

And another word of advice. Don't be in a hurry.
There is actually way more quests in Tortage to go through than you can handle on one character. This does not only apply for the nighttime quests that are very different for each of the 4 main classes, but also for all the possible datime quests. It is really worth making alts for all four classes.
In GW (and in WOW too for most players) the real fun starts when you reach top level. In AOC the fun is there all the time. Enjoy the stories that the NPCs tell you. There is more to the game that decapitating the endless number of foes.
Of course this advice comes from a hopeless romantic and part-time roleplayer. When you read some of the comments made on guildwars.gameamp.com about AOC you can finish the game in a month or two and it is only grinding. I am playing it almost daily for three months now, and my highest character is still only level 50. I guess just like life, AOC is what you make it.
