There is no official GW2 release date. Do not believe any so-called GW 2 release dates until you can look it up and find it on www.guildwars.com

Its False. They aren't even gonna be able to start Beta this Fall, like originally planed. A 2010 release is much more likely.

Safe to say theres plenty of more time to play on guildwars 1 all the way, and some people to come into the saga and do all games and then wait for gw2 as well.

that might be the planned date for beta testing? or they are just liars who hate people who play GW and support WoW instead. or its a type-o

Anet has already said the beta will NOT be this year, that means it will be no sooner than January 1st 2009 (unless they change it again, but any change would have to be announced by them personally or it cannot be believed)
As for beta testing, most of it is people the devs know/trust, beyond that they might open something where people can sign up and get randomly chosen, or they might even do what they did with GW, some open-beta weekend tests.
