scremo
ok guys when it comes to music i can be open minded. but a friend of mine loves listening to hardcore scremo music and i personally cant stand a second of it. but i am just curious from all of u scremo fans out there. what do u find so appealing about it when all i here is noise?
p.s. not trying to start an argument i just want to here your opinions so that i might have a better understanding of it.
sorry for the double post my internet is lagging hardcore
I'm really into pretty much all music except rap and country, and I find that listening to screamo for some reason calms me down.
I have no idea why screaming could possibly make me calm but idk, it does
I think screamo is just another possible timbre of the voice and screamo is just the genre that is exploring it if you like to think in progressive terms
I like screamo. I have no idea why I like it though. I am very picky about my screaming though. Some sound like horrible murders or something. Some are careful orchestrated. I don't know sir.
I like metal mostly, all different kinds, from OT3P, A7X, Amon Amarth, Meshuggah, In This Moment, Slipknot, Dimmu Borgir, Slayer, Lamb of God, Ozzy, Black Label Society, you name it! I also like most other types of music as well, some rap/hip-hop is OK as is some country. But when falling asleep, I either need metal or silence, no idea why but it is what it is. :)
As for only hearing noise, try getting the lyrics to the songs, once you read the lyrics as the song is playing you can probably scream/sing along to most of them.

RE: scremo
Personally i like classic rock, and some newer rock songs (The Wombats, that's a band i can live with)
Mostly i listen to Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns 'n' Roses, Alice Cooper.
I also like Muse, Dreamtheater, Queens of the Stone Age and just some random rock songs.
I'm not much into metal or scremo (i thought it was called Screamo o.O) However, I like listening to System of a Down once in a while =]
Oh look.. the räpäti räpfäb came along.. kill da police y0 gangsta bro?
Break that down for me, what does it mean?
I can only take this style of music for a shorter length of time. Not that it is bad in any way, I just tend to get a headache. There are only a hand full of songs that I have heard and have down loaded.
@stan, got all those albums for my lil boy, he listens to those versions of system of a down, pumpkins, nirvana, metallica etc.. but he listens to the proper versions when we go out in the car, seems to enjoy both.
If you like AILD, try Soul Embraced. They are good. Rocky Gray(Ex Evanescence) is in it, and he wrote the song "tourniquet"(Also performed by evanescence) for SE.
for the most part i see screamo music the same way i see rap, they're too untalented to sing properly and play real music, so they scream incoherently about how shitty their life is with their mansions and six figure incomes while making seemingly random and equally annoying noises on instruments

Tbh I only listen to it because I like the heavy instrument playing. Could care less about the vocals.
