Yes and no, the cynics of Gameamp's past have generally been much more intune to getting a point across without looking like an idiot, breaking the rules, and without all the "ZoMG 1337 HaXorZ nUb u drnk Phail Juice, uNinStaL plZ" language used by the intellectually numb to sound impressive only to those of the same level of mental abilities (or lesser).
we admins have really been slack as of late because everytime we lock something or ban someone all the perps or OP's friend's go all Care-Bear and begin to cry about their buddies getting sacked for blatently breaking the rules at which point they all join the powers of their brains and you'll have 4-5 people sharing one very incapable THC fed brain coming up with such enlightening forum titles as "GRRRRRRRAAAAAAAH (Fire, i want you to ..."
i'd say we as admins aren't carebears, more or less we're like dictators or police, some in the past have been 'crooked' cops and have really allowed a lot of stupid behavior to go on far too long.
i've been staff for 30 months+ and have seen a much more amusing and intellectual batch of supposed negative people before, unfortunately they're long gone and we're just left with the mound of fecal matter they left behind to try and fill their shoes.

OK, ask the *DEVS* to fix some of the code and maybe post what problems they are know of and are working on fixing, b/c there is some major flaws with the site down to the basic levels. (don't know of any personally, but I've heard from others that they are there.)
Get the site off the damned google spyware list so we can get more new blood coming to the site, I mean, maybe 10 people have joined (and actively post) in the last 3 months?
Update the content NETWORK WIDE, there hasn't been much work done over the last few months by anyone anywhere to even TRY to keep up with wiki etc.
Re-name all the cred ranks just for the hell of it and to add new stuff around. I think loin cloth is the first level for 5 of the sites now?
Might wanna clear up some of the sites on the network, most of a good number are not used/the game is a LONG way off from being released. *cough* spellborn in its 3rd year of beta *cough*
Kill off the auctions section all together, nothing has been up there in a long time and for GW atleast, there are better options out there. And other games have a in-game system for the same thing.
Another thing the devs might be able to do... let us use different/better FONTS, theres only 5 right now... I have 500 in photoshop for things, atleast add say, 5 more?
Should I list more? or is that good for now?

Well, to throw my two cents into the mix.
I would agree that the site has been going downhill, much to my dismay. It used to be a vibrant community, with people helping those that asked for help, and in a friendly manner.
Now, not so much.
If I could mention something that I miss on this site? GUILD WARS!
Many times, I look at the top five, and I don't see a single thread talking about the game that this site is dedicated to. Off Topic, Rant & Rave, check out this cool / cute video. I like this music, etc.
When are we going to get back to Guild Wars?
Anyway, that's enough from me.

The "SITE" has not gone downhill. It has more content and helpful things now then it ever did. What has gone down hill is the age and maturity level of certain members. To make that go back uphill, you have to get rid of the bad apples. Eliminate the bad attitudes and the "forum" will go back uphill. For example, there seems to be one person in particular, that with almost every posts seems to insult the entire community. Then when replied to, insults that person directly. But they are still here and still allowed to raise trouble free of the rules, like what has gone on here recently. Until those people are eliminated the forums will continue their downward spiral.

Ive played for nearly 2 years, its kind of dull to me at this point. The most Im ever on anymore is about 2 hours. I only get on the game to chat with friends, same with the forums. Sure it's dedicated to Guild Wars, but to have to talk about it all the time would cause brains to blow out just because of boredom.

Geo's right about the content being a bit outdated, that's being worked on currently.
and Rev is correct about the influx of crab apples.
Guild Wars should be the focus as well on the forums
and i completely agree that the auction system should be banished to the abyss... the Trading Post comes up on the front page now so that seems to be the medium of preferance.

Back in time when Zack had his own link / side for his videos and videos were still cool this forum was all about GW and alot more ON TOPIC but since we all know EVERYTHING about GW we need something else to talk about. I mean HOW many people actually asks about the game... You're all like a big grown up immature family now, like Everdream. I personally would NOT share my spare time on a forum unlesss i knew the people and trust them...Thats what has happened.
Personally i like to screw around just to get to argue and such cause im bored 25/8. Give me guildwars2.gameamp.com :)

GW2 is coming and i'll likely staffing that as well here pending that's still possible.
as for sharing my private life, i don't really mind sharing, not that insecure to be worried, and like you, i'm bored so i post things that i like to see if there are any others that share similarities, turns out there's quite a few on here.

i remember when i first started coming to this site 2 years ago. man, it was such a nice and friendly place, and the top threads were always changing, now they're the same for a couple days. i just miss the activity and content the site used to have. but, that was a while ago.

Not even gonna get into how BAD the tips & hints section is...

i can understand the stuff about updating the site content etc.
but why change the lvl names for the hell of it? and why add more fonts?
and to be honest, with the content updating issue, GA has never really been about that. its always been about the community to me. the first thing you see on the front page is the top 5 for the forums.
and with things like Wiki, there are more viable sources for information. And you want to know what the good thing about info on GA is? is that people post questions in the forums. you can get better detail/answers from someone directly answering your question. instead of having to read a ton of text in wiki (which the case may be sometimes), you can get direct responses. and if you need more information, just simply ask.
I would hate for this place to become a wiki where the forums became even more dead and people just came here for maps and armor pictures.
most of the users on guru dont go there for up to date content. again, on there, the first thing you see is the forums.
if people could learn to act normally on the forums this place would be 100x better straight away. i'm not going to sit back and smile because i have a few extra fonts to use now so i can make The Most Awesome Post Ever! i want to see helpful polite and most of all 'fun' members. where have all the laughs gone? where has the posting on topics together gone? where is all the good discussion without flaming gone?
thats what i want to see on the site, not new level names.

thats another thing, looking at these current sections, a lot of the members contributed a lot of these to the site, it wasnt all admins. so instead of sitting there crying about it and how 'slack' all the admins are, why not see what the template is for them and make a few updated ones for the site.
i'm sure credabilaty can be dished out, and of course seeing as you are so concerened about all this, you would be happy to help.
it seems to me like everyone is just contempt with pointing fingers and having the attitude that if someone else isnt going to do it then i wont.
any basic site relies on the community to carry it. thats what its there for, for the visitors so come and enjoy, and for the community to make it a worth while place. people will sign up if the come and see the topics in the top 5 funny or helpful or enjoyable to read. but the hell is going to sign up to a top 5 flame fest?

I used to be a little harsh on people if they would refuse to take advice and continue acting dumb but I've cooled down a little. Whats happened recently is a little absurd I'm not offended by it but this isn't the place go to the QQ forums if you really want to use phail, ups, and nub every other word. Talking like that is really not that funny especially when the people doing it, with a few exceptions, aren't that good at the game.

you dont need any HTML skills, and as i said, its not my job, its not completely the admins job. all the mission and quests and maps are just mini guides. All you need to make a guide is some writing skill and somewhere to host pictures.
as i said in my earlier post, the members contributed a lot of the things you already see there. but seeing as my reply was over a few sentances long i didnt expect you to read it fully.
and on the fact of me deleting my toons so what? am i not allowed to be here? the top 5 as everyone has so clearly mentioned is 'off topic', so what exactly is the problem?
and surely i can still hand out some advice and be helpful sometimes? or should we all just stick to trolling and flaming?
