Alright, I rolled war/ranger as my newest character because my old 13 war/monk just wasn't cutting it for me and my necro/monk was just plain bad. I am now level 9 on my w/r with a nice green axe that was donated by a guildy. I got the LA armor to hold me over until droks. I was just wondering what skills would help me level faster. I was thinking for a build i could get a spinning axe attack, and use apply poison to get everyone around me. However, i havent been able to get this skill yet. I am also completely dependant on a monk henchie to heal me in battle, and i seem to take a lot of damage, so i probably need something like bonettis defense (i think). I have been using my pet, but it doesnt seem to help very much, so i could probably get rid of it. Just need better survivability and a plan to use the skills on the bar. Thanks everyone, and take it slow, cause i am still really new to this game!

Just so you know, for your future characters, you can change your secondary later on in the game. i.e. w/mo to w/r
As for leveling, just put something together and play through the game. You will level as you go along.

here's a great guide, pretty old but i used it when i was new to the game, and gets you used to the way things work:
NoGames 1-20 in a day guide
i'm assuming you have prophecies, as in factions you'd be lvl 20 in no time, and nightfall you'd have heros to help you.
as for builds, pvx wiki is pretty much the depository of all builds, whether for farming, playing through the game normally (PvE) or playing against other peeps (PvP).
check it out HERE
just look under the PvE builds by catagory, choose you profession and start getting the skills together.
