2 man team scrapper+blaster or tanker+ blaster which is better, this is a pretty random team but me and my friend are going to make a starting team since i have only played the trial version i dont know which is a better combo
+ he is hard set on being a blaster so im indecisive over the scrapper or the tanker and if there is a better team combo that involves a controller etc then pls post if you wish
thanks

First Welcome to Gameamp! We have an awesome community here and there is a large amount of knowledge in these Forums. Got a question? Feel free to ask!
Since you are just starting off of a trial account I would say go Scrapper+Blaster.
With both of you being high damage it tips the odds in your favor. Most enemies won't live long enough to realize what hit them.
BUT... Be warned.
If your Buddy is going to be AoE heavy he may have a hard time staying alive. As you get into the higher levels this will start becoming more apparent. He needs to be able to handle any attention that goes his way.
What power sets are you guys thinking about taking? This could make all the difference.

I'll agree with Phase. Early on, the Scrapper + Blaster combo is going to seem crazy good. However, ultimately, you'd be better off with Tanker + Blaster. Scrappers just don't have the aggro control to keep the Blaster safe in the later game.

Very true, but you only need a stun, hold or immobilize power in order to keep the Blaster safe from harm. Surely that must be doable.

Tank out aggros all AT's, period. Their inherent power, Gauntlet, generates Aggro when any of the tanks attacks hit.
| QUOTE | Although many try, few can withstand the irresistible force of the Tanker. Each time a Tanker attacks, he enrages the target, and those around him, enticing them to attack the Tanker. Each punch continues to provoke your enemies and allows the Tanker to do what he does best.
This power is also referred to as "Punch-voke". A special note needs to be made for Brutes, who possess a smaller version of this power. When Tankers hit a target, this will taunt the affected target, along with up to five others around it. When Brutes hit a target, this will taunt only the effected target. The Brute version of "Punch-voke" is occasionally labelled as "Poke-voke".
Type Archetype-Specific (Tanker)
Effects Taunt

In addition to this a properly slotted tank can hold nearly 100% of the aggro of most any mob. Carry a 50/50 mix of greens and blues (health and endurance inspirations), and you are in good shape. My fire/fire tank is pretty awesome at holding aggro.

I can remember teaming with a fire/fire tank with my ice/ice blaster. He would aggro the mobs I would run next to him lay down ice patch, back up and start picking off targets one by one. But it will come come down to play style and the power sets you both have

Depending on which sets the blaster is would more then likely decide whether a scrapper or tanker would be most suitable. I have seen /fire scrappers hold aggro like a brute, which in numeric stats, they are the closest to being a brute, although a tanker will preform better with aggro management. A scrapper with a damage aura, and most certainly a build with two such as a spines/fire, should have both enough damage and aggro generation to hold a 2 man sized mob, given he is slotted correctly. With fire, you cant really slot the wrong way.

Except Storm defenders. On our first journey to 50, Path used to give me fits on his stormie because it was the only thing that could pull aggro off of me; or aggro more than 17 mobs so I couldn't control it all.
If you're going to be running a duo and decide to go the scrapper route, I'd build it like a tank: Dip into the fighting and presense pool and take more secondary powers vs primary powers.
The fighting pool will tremendously help your survivability, BUT it might not be that necessary if you'll strictly be a duo. The presense pool will also help you manage aggro, and you might want to take the first single target taunt. If you take the ST taunt from your primary and the ST taunt from presense, that's two mobs you're definitely controlling.

tanker/blaster might be better in the long run, but if you're only doing a trial account, i'd suggest scrapper/blaster. you'll cut through the levels pretty quickly, and maybe if one of you (probably the blaster) picks up aid other, maybe both of you can, you can have your survivability improved a lot. maybe have a controllery blaster like a psychic or ice for some extra mitigation.

Hmmm ever seen a fire/storm corrutor? A fire/WP tank and a SS/Fire brute were on our team for the LGTF and he was out aggroing both of them then running half way accross the map becuase he was gettin diced dragging the whole mob accross the map with him, it was seriously funny AND annoying
