Down Load

Get ready for Torrent :) from what i hear client file size is 9.33gig (wow for beta) and is being transfered through Torrent so if we all seed no problem otherwise start DLing open beta on 15th and may be done to play 18th :) if your lucky haha

I think EA could have made it avalible another way ....i hate Torrents :)

Yeah, the DL client it uses torrents. Means if you have an older model router, downloading will stink like a corpse of a dead cat left lying in an alley.

Still, it's very efficient for the distributing party and, provided there's enough people sharing, for the recipients too. With MMO's you're always stuck with the last 5-10% being a pain up the donkey's behind as no-one's who just got it all is still sharing but launching the game instead. You don't really want the other option, the one that Funcom used. Which meant limited access, people paying for premium download services et.al.

9.33GB seems a bit over the top though. I'm thinking 8.45GB-ish after download and 9.33Gb after installation instead but I can't tell you why I think that, or why there's such minimal compression on the bin files.

You're not losing out on Open beta time.
You Open beta peeps are getting your own server(s) which aren't up yet. They'll be added later this week, maybe on today for all I know though.
The DL client's been available for a week or so now so, if you started promptly, you should have it by now. 8.5GB isn't THAT much afterall.

I can't give you the link as it's made up of several variables, one of which is your logon to the beta site, which in turn is dependent on you having taken the Open Beta key acquired by purchasing the Pre-order version of the Collector's Edition of the game and having received your Open Beta Key. I didn't get that edition as I don't want an Open beta key so I don't know about further instructions. I do know some people already got their accounts settled and were miffed that the server wasn't up yet. So maybe they jumped the gun.

i been tryin to set mine up for a wile, but all the info i have is that i cant set it up till the 1th tomoz, and thus that is when i can start downloading the torrent, so as i said, losing time :(

coz the 15th is when the servers go up

I am so lost, and probably proper daft as well. I have registered at www.war-europe.com, confirmed my account via the confirmation email I received. So all seems to be set. But...

Once logged in the website still is completely useless to me. It has lots of blah, blah how I can buy the CE or regular editions. Even a fancy hlp page telling me to enter the codes in the beta code section. But I have no such section. I think I clicked on about every link but nothing takes me anywhere near a place to enter the CE pre-order codes I have.

I think entering those codes is step one, but I also see no info at all either where to download the client.

Did my account creation go wrong maybe?

Edit: Nope. I created a whole new account and still nowhere a place to enter any kind of codes or download info. If even something simple as registering a code is borked I have little hope for the rest.

grrrrrr i just got my codes(via email, ordered from amazon) and i went to create a master aaccount and enter them...its telling me i cant use my OB key yet...wtf?!!? its the 15th!!!!!! gaaarrrrr

well from what the birds are saying it is 9.33 gig bit torrent DL and another 800 meg patch .. for now haha
if your torrent runs well floating at 100-300 kb/s np a day but if your not so lucky and it floats at 0-60 kb/s your looking a a few day (3-5) not like EA doesn't have the bandwith and servers to make it a propper DL

(me hates bittorrent)

its now 17:22 GMT and i have tryed all different ways of entering my code and i have tryed both of my CE open beta codes, still nothin

anyone please tell me if you have entered your codes and if so, how? did u use caps or anything like that

well its now 18:40 GMT and still cant use my CE OB codes

i have 2 of them and every time i enter them i just get "Invalide code" so i am totley baffled

its kinda P**sing me off, i just dont know whats wrong i have read that other people have already entered there OB codes... and the news on warhammer website says they can now be entered, so i just dont know

Hmmm. That's annoying.
I can't give any practical advice as i filled in my key a year ago next month and don't recall having had problems with it at the time :-/
Are you at the correct site? There's separate EU and US sites.

The other option may be the keys haven't been loaded into the database yet. or you're doing something wrong. Check the Open Beta site(s) for information. I do recall there being something along the lines of Tech Support for accounts, so you could try there.
Finally, If they open the servers today, that may be at 18:00 PST, three hours from now (if my time-zone-math is correct)

Where do you go to enter your codes? I mean which website/page/link/option do you go to to try to enter your codes. My codes probably have issues too, but I don't even get that far. I don't even know where to go for that. If I would then perhaps I have more luck or see somthing you have missed. Although I doubt it since I can't even see the obvious aparently.

No information on where to go with the codes was provided Phe?
You need to go to www.war-europe.com I think. Will check the domain when I get back home.

I'll try to dig up the info I got from GOA/Mythic, it seems to have been a bit more detailed than what the retailers are providing you with.

Also be sure to check the FAQ I linked to a few days ago. It might have more info.

According to the pre-order leaflet that has the codes I should go to http://www.war-europe.com/collectorsedition. Which I diligently did. Twice. I have two lovely a WAR/Mythic accounts. But nowhere a place to enter codes.

Just now I also tried the link that Brodar posted (https://accounts.eamythic.com). At there I reached a place to enter some code. I guess that is where sethron went as well. But I think that is the US/Canada site. My UK codes are not accepted there.

dude i have tryed over and over all day and tryed everything that the heraled has said, and im in uk also but that is the only place that people have been told to enter there beta codes

recently they have told people to replace all O's and 0's with Q's due to a miss print i tryed that and still nothin, im gettin to the point where ima send an angre letter to mythic >.<

P.S. 22:06 GMT the time is now

Hmmm. Weird.

There's 2 things on the site you can try (if you haven't already).
Under Menu Item "Help" should appear a second item besides the old "FAQ" which is very dated. There should now be a "Beta Help Form", provided you're eligible, which I gather is the whole problem.
Under the menu item "Download" there should also be a link to "Beta Test Client".

Finally, tester forum is at http://forum.war-europe.com/
See if you can log in. Sadly my Closed Beta account is very much different from yours so all the above may not apply, especially if your keys aren't being accepted. The whole annoying use of Flash makes it rather hard to see what you guys see and vice versa.

Sethron, could you start linking your sources of information? I.e. "They said" is that people on a forum somewhere or official announcement by Mythic? Also go drink a relaxing cup of tea. You're so high strung right now no game could do anything but disappoint you I fear.

I found something that may be of use.
Here people are talking about Canadian pre-order codes and Early access codes having gotten mixed up (either by Canadian retailers or Mythic I don't know).

If you got a code for early access, maybe try that. Do hang on to your "invalid" code though as you'll probably be needing that at a later date then :-)

i have now tryed every posible sullution on all 3 codes on both of my CE OB slips that i got

still nothing...all 6 codes came up with invalid

just to note i have been using this website to try entering my codes

and most tips i have followed have been yours or things linked by you or from Here

i looked on war europ i cant log in i dont have the beta help center and i cant download the game cliant

so im f*cked basicly and EA have taken my money willingly

LMAO!!! guys!!!!! K so i preordered the normal version...from amazon.com...annnndd i somehow got two of each code (live head start, and OB acces) i thought wtf....i enetered both(succesfully) in the master account thing and now have TWO accounts with OB acces AANNDD live game head start.... :DDD sorry i think its awesome...but i donno why it wont work for you dudes!!!!!

I found this thread (http://www.only-war.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=26834) which seems the most official EU announcement thread and apparently none of the Europeans can enter their code yet. Althought the guy that promised to answer all is keeping quiet. But it is save to say we are still screwed at the moment.

Not looking good for warhammer's organization, i accept accidents can happen but i would have thought this would have been a easy thing to do, i dont have a code but id know what it would feel like for you guys.

It may be that things are working as of Sunday afternoon.
Going by the fact that I was getting "Authentication Failed" errors since Thursday or so and Sunday afternoon the servers came up again.

It is still not answered when the Europeans can enter their code, or when proper account setup will work. But he claims we will get the same amount of open-beta and headstart as the Americans. Or so they claim. I'll update here if I see some new answers posted.
