Ok, so recently I went to the store wanting to buy UT2004. When I got to the store, all they had was Editors Choice edition. So I bought that. Took it home and tried to run it on my computer but nothing happens when I put the disk in, and nothing happens when I try to go to Run > D:\Setup either. It tells me to insert a disk into the drive, even though it's already in there. I was thinking I might need the original in order to play the editors choice edition? Is that true?

No, you don't need the original. ECE is the full game. I don't know what the packaging looks like these days since I got the game over a year ago, but if you got the DVD version make sure you're putting it in your DVD drive accordingly...

Yeah it sounds kind of silly, but are you sure you have a DVD-ROM on your pc? If so, make sure it's in the right drive. Sounds like that sorta problem to me. If you don't have a DVD drive there is a CD-ROM version available if you look around maybe at a different store in your area.

Yeah... crap. I have the DVD version, not the CD rom version. ...and I can't even take it back to the store now cause I already opened it. Damn. Thanks for the help guys.

Many stores have a fair return policy. Just explain you made a mistake and didn't realize it was the DVD version. It should be ok if you have the receipt.

I could be mistaken - but your DVD edition CD key should work with the CD set install. Perhaps a kind friend would loan you their install CDs if you are unable to return the game.
