Ok for the past few months in some zones I have spent several hours just hanging out, hazard zones to be specific. Well I have began to notice things.
1) Boomtown, the Rikti War occurred in 2003, if that is so how is it feasible that open fires still burn. Over any given length of time the objects aflame would burn to nothing and fire would cease. Right? Some of the areas have glowing red ground. Is this radioactive material or is there an intense heat underneath that is causing the glowing?
2) If the zone is inhabitable then why does electricity still go to Boomtown, Dark Astoria, Eden or even Hollows for that matter? Providing the criminal element with lectricity helps them out in commenting their activities in these zones.
3) In each of these Hazard Zones, they have guards stationed. The Hollows, Perez Park, Striga Isle, and Terra Volta all have some sort of reason why guards can be there (You could in theory include Rikti Crash Site due to the hospital and TF there). But why only two guards? There is no phone that I can see that will allow them to call ahead and let know that a mass group of Skulls in Perez will be taking a strike against Atlas Park. I feel bad for the guards that are in the middle of nowhere, like Crey's Folley or Eden. That has to be the worst commute to any job in Paragon City. "It was bumper to bumper Dev Earth and I was late again!"

1. they arent still burning there is just a secret villain group of pyros that light stuff daily
2. Unfortunatley with all the social advocate groups like the ACLU it is inhumane and illegal to shut off electricity or water to any sentient being. also see next point
3. I have 2 theories onthe gaurds
A) they are 2 really tough gaurds
B) the villains dont want to leave the hazard zones since they have free utilities (see above) and the gaurds are there in case the rush, to pull out their bullhorns and announce how much utilities cost in the ajacent zone so they will turn away.

I just thoght that the rikiti had some magical alien power that made their fires burn forever...at least that is how i made it ok in my mind for the everburning cars

What I get a kick out of are those totally wicked looking combination cars. You've seen them, take one car and attach the back of a second car to make a stretch version. I see them on the roads all the time, and have to wonder who is buying those odd looking things. They must cost a fortune.

One of the other things that has always made me ponder. The world that Paragon City resides in isnt the same world we live in. Why you ask?
1) On the outskirts of Paragon lays a massive Rikti ship, unscathed from its crash. Now in the world we live that zone would be the cleanest, safest place. There would be such a military presence that Rikti wouldnt be able to step out of the portal because guns would be blazing as it opened. Our government would have had that zoned secured, sealed up from public, and huge dome constructed around it to study every little thing about it. Yet in PC World we have a small government presence (1 guy and some scattered forces fighting here and there).
2) Creys Folley is our Water Works zone, right? If that is the only operational water works why is the water green/brown. I would think that since that is our only water source then wouldn't that be a priority zone; Add to that Terra Volta. Our main power source for PC and its under constant barrage of enemies. I think we need to /petition the mayor to allocate more forces to these zones and make them a bit safer.

Actually, with your #2, one of the historical plaques tells us how Positron was able to come up with a cheap desalinization system for getting water out of the ocean, and Synapse was able to construct it with superspeed. The old Water Works aren't used anymore.
I'd like to know why every elevator in the world only goes up/down 1 floor, regardless of how many floors there are in a building. For that matter, why are some floors (especially in labs) much larger than the floors they are above?

Some elevators I have notice (specially if you are targeting someone and have their name targeted) go sideways because you can see the green square through the wall and they are just on the other side.

Ah, must of been a plaque I didn't read, concerning the ocean water conversion.
I know its just a game but some of the stuff is kind of funny. Im looking way into depth at this stuff but I can't help it. The game is great and I wouldnt want them to change any of these concepts (maybe clean up one hazard zone, showing progress of city). If this was "real world" the hazard zones:
1) Wouldn't get recieve electricity or water unless needed.
2) The doors would probably be sealed and a teleporter used instead.
3) Nuclear reactor that close to a city would be taboo and moved a little farther out of city limits.
4) Rikti would be caputered and studied like lab rats running mazes.

ok 1st off i have no life.... 2nd, if you follow one of those combination cars you will learn that after going around the city at a slow pace it is infact one driver who happens to have a problem w/ tailgating, they do infact part ways..... yes i've tested this theory a few times to make sure it is true, and you may have to follow them for a while but they will split
you should try it, it is fun chasing cars around town

I think like the heroes much of the military was destroyed and the prescence there is all we could muster.

Silly Jeni, I know that. I am just having a bit of fun at some of the oddities...
Another funny thing. I went into a door mission in independance port the other day. Open the warehouse door and step in... the mission was an outdoor city block, like some of the Board Train missions. It was very odd.
If you want to have some harmless fun with someone on your team, use Recall Friend on them and teleport them INSIDE the little tower/pillbox structures at Hazard Zone entrances. You can not go in or out, but you can TP in or out. They will be trapped there. This is funny if for a short time, don't leave them in there or it is mean, haha.
The one thing I want to know about Boomtown is how those buildings manage to stay together at a 45 degree angle like they were made of solid metal. They used to construct them pretty tough I guess.

The weird thing about Terra Volta isn't that it's under-protected. It's that Valor Bridge goes lengthwise across the water, when it would be cheaper to connect to Power Island with an east-west bridge.
I dunno. Maybe the tides or the soils made that unfeasible.

Err...that's the least of the engineering "marvels" in this game. You HAVE had door missions in office buildings, right? :) If I ever had to work in one of those buildings, I'd PRAY that it would get raided by Hellions and burned to the ground!

Ever notice some buildings have a different number of doors depending on if you are going in or out. In particular the mutie store in IP has 1 door and the way the frontage is shaped you could not put 2 doors, but when you turn around to leave there are 2.

What about all the contacts? Some of them chose to stand amongst a group of bad guys and give you missions to destroy said bad guys. Now are bad guys that stupid? Who would let some scrub civilian stand around giving orders to bump off their fellow comrades? For example, Tobias Hansen stands in a graveyard in Striga Isle, with all these Banished Pantheon and Council Warwolves running around and not one of them touches him. Are they afraid of him or something?

Which reminds me, I've got to check the windows on the PTA train. It has six windows in the station, but I think it's shorter when it moves on the rail.

I figure the contacts are just lazy and figure the heroes will do their bidding for them.
I think the contacts should all become Arch-Villains when CoV comes out. Especially Antonio Nash, he seems so pompous and arrogant.

speaking of trains the frequency of trains that "arrive" in the station is much higher than the number that come in and out. If you watch how often you can board and how often you see them arive outside it's quite a difference.

Yeah, and yesterday Pavel Garnier gave me a mission to clean Outcasts off the street and then he just watched as a bunch of them came over and beat me up while I was trying to buy Awakens from him!

If you didn't do it yet, try not to take out the 15 Outcasts until you have a good team. If that's the one I think it is, as soon as you take out the 15th outcast it's a race to the auction, with not a lot of time on the clock. The street part is just to gather information about the location of the auction.
