Katana/Regen Scrapper Help 

So I'm trying a Katana/Regen Scrapper and was looking for a few pointers. Here's my current specs...(i'm level 7 now)

Primary Power Set: Katana
- Hack
- Slice
Secondary Power Set: Regeneration
- Fast Healing
- Quick Recovery
Fitness:
- Swift

I chose the fitness pool for the eventual Health and Stamina powers.

I'm still not sure of the travel power I want. Leaning towards Flight although I'm not sure how useful this would be. (i've just always wanted to fly).

Also, I cannot determine what enhancement fits into Quick Recovery.

Ok, this is from a level 40 Kat/Regen scrapper who has a roommate with a lvl 48 Kat/Regen:

1) Keep slots out of Fast Healing (It isn't worth it right now)

2) Put slots into Quick Recovery (Almost removes downtime entirely)

3) Good call on the Fitness pool, but you might want hurdle instead of Health for the same reason as #1.

4) Beware Calling the Wolf (taunt) and Divine Avalanche (parry). Both of them are very situational attacks and not even that great to begin with.

5) Must-haves for Regen: Quick Recovery, Dull Pain, Integration, Instant Healing, Moment of Glory

6) Must haves for Katana: Everything except the CtW, DA, and Gambler's Cut, possibly including Build-up if you don't take GC.

7) Travel powers are a matter of choice, and I personally reccommend Super Jump. It combines speed, height, and low endurance drain. Flight is the best for height, but is the slowest out of all. Still, if you want it, by all means take it (you'll love it in Terra Volta when fighting Sky Skiffs).

8) Quick Recovery needs Endurance Recovery enhancements, not the common Endurance Reduction. Recovery is a dark-blue color, almost indigo.

Flight isn't particularly useful for a melee character. Super Speed is a great choice, as it gives you Hasten as a pre-req power. Look down in the guides section on the main page and you'll see my guide on Travel Pool Powers. It might help you make your decision. With Stamina and Quick Recovery, having Hasten will really work well for you. You might even want to consider adding in Super Jump in the late game.

Check out the thread for the new scrapper testing to determine what secondary power is best for you. It is here.

My preference is that scrappers should not take flight. Flight brings you out of range of melee, which is where the scrapper belongs. Super Leap or Super Speed are better paths for movement for a scrapper. Super Leap is the best choice IMHO for your build since you already have swift. Also, the level 20 power of Acrobatics in the Super Leap power pool is argueably the only useful third power for the movement power pools. Whirlwind, Group Fly, and Group Teleport are all not worth the slot unless you have a specific concept.

The fitness pool is great for all Archetypes. Except regenerating scrappers, hehe. Seriously, with Quick Recovery you already have Stamina, and what is Health but a poor man's Regeneration? Unless you find yourself still running low on endurance and health at much higher levels, I would avoid this one. At least hold off until much later.

The Fighting pool is great for anyone who draws aggro, with Tough and Weave being great. I can highly recommend it.

The only thing I know you can slot into Quick Recovery is Enhance Endurance Recovery enhancements.

I just noticed something in the powers section...Divine Avalanch isn't listed...in fact, the Katana powers looks suspiciously like Broadsword powers.

Actually, katana powers were broadsword powers (both in name and animation) untill Issue 2.

Anyway, about the Fitness pool. It's not necessary to take it, but 6-slotting both QR and Stamina provides an almost unlimited supply of Endurance. These two puppies are going to let you charge into battle with your toggles up, and keep going untill the end.

I only use scrappers for the most part and my main is a Katana/Regen. To be honest, I hit some hard times before...but overall its a fun Scrapper to play. Here are a few tips.

Katana Powers to skip: Taunt, Divine Ave.

Regen Powers to skip: Moment of Glory(i have found it to be a huge waste because dying is rare if you have IH on all the time.

It is very important that you 6 slot all your recovering powers(Fast healing, Recovery, Instant Healing, and i recommend you get Health and Stamina.)

When 6 slotting Instant Healing make 4 reduce endurence cost and 2 healing.

Keep up to date with your SO's and you will be fine!

Something to note: Instant Healing is getting nerfed. It will no longer be a toggle but a click.

I don't personally see what is so bad with divine avalanche. I'm a bit of a noob as I only have played the 14 day trial and only got to around lvl 16, but Di Av has got me out of deep trouble quite a bit. I made A tip on it if that is any help. With defence buff enhancments it is particually helpful.
