Gen 13 #23 review

(SPOILERS)

The stories that each of the kids tell are funny but overall I had a “take it or leave it” attitude about this issue. I loved all the little nods to the past like the appearance of Qeelocke in Fairchild’s story and even having her dressed all native as well. But again, I could have done without the stories. And I’m still iffy about the whole Megan and Dr. Cross as kids thing. I guess it’s because I never really liked the characters when they were first introduced and coupled with Gen 13 getting a new origin during their story, I guess I was hoping we’d forget all that and move on to other things. I do love the set-up of them going to the mall though. That is something I really look forward to reading about.

And the Marc Slayton back-up story was great! It had such a Sam Raimi or Quentin Tarantino feel to it when Slayton uses to the two machetes as a substitute for his missing legs. I thought that was awesome!
