pets :)

well i just recently found out that yes u can tame bears its just really hard

it's alot easier with a partner but apperently it's doable alone just wondering if any1 knows an easier way to do it that what i've heard

all i know is that u gotta distract him and charm him as fast as posible i have a N/R and faintheartedness works really well but i only get about 75% through charming him before he breaks charm
u gotta cast the curse on him before he starts his brutal maul then charm and just before he's done u need some1 to knock him down with bane or hammerbash (preferably 1 then the other giving u more time 2 charm)

i have yet to succesfully charm a bear but i've seen some1 with a bear so i know it's possible
does any1 know a easier way of getting a bear than this??

I tamed the first meleandru's stalker for the quest. All i had to do is click him and press charm animal. I always thought bears had a red dot, and monsters with red dot cant be charmed. If they could you would have seen more peeps with high lvl pets. For instance when you want to go to the god world, you have to fight a copy of yourself. It would be very nice if you charm him ;)

I think charming a bear isnt even possible. Maybe further in game you find other bears that are green dots.

Sjaak --> Meleandru's Stalker lvl 16
Kitabatake Tomomori --> Ran lvl 5

they can be charmed they just have an interupt spell called "break charm" and ive read on other forums you can catch them...and thats the only way, or have 4 rangers all use charm at once lol

What is it with the bears!?! From what I can tell they aren't any better than any other pet. Slower than some, stronger than others. I plan on upgrading my stalker to a Wolf! Now thats a cool animal!

Do you just "dump" your animal and get a new one? Theres a place near ascalon where a animal collector is. But i dont get why would you trade in your (prob high lvld) stalker for a lvl 3 wolf? Ive got a stalker from the beginning now and its the same lvl as i am. Never thought of changing them for a other animal.

Yeah, I don't think I could get rid of my Stalker. I thought about it, but going through all the work to level them again isn't worth it when the Stalker is pretty cool to start with. (Unless you could tame a Yak, that would be amazing)

I wonder at what level the pets transform? Has anyone seen what the Stalker transforms into?

It's not so much transform as evolve. It depends on how you use them. If you rename your pet you don't see the different names they go through. The appearance of the pet changes only slightly. They do get bigger apparently.

I tried tameing a bear with a friend and i still couldn't i have never seen someone with a bear but my friedn told me he did and it is very slow

I think that you need to have someone else in your party to do that, but I'm not positive

personally they should let you charm the rabbit in the pre searing... saying its not an animal is just plain ignorant.....

This one time early in the morning (about 2am) I saw a guy with a pink elephant! It could use ranged attacks by suirting water out of its trunk. I couldn't believe my eyes, I thought it must've been a glitch! But then I woke up with a beer bottle in one hand and my head on the keyboard and the screen read: jfsdddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd....(for a couple of pages).

I sold my level 20 Melandru stalker for 300g to the tamer in Old Ascalon.

Then I captured a bear at beginning of Ice Caves of Sorrow or Iron Mines mission.

Now there is a spider you can capture in the Underworld but I have only done it once for another person but its only 1 per visit of the UnderWorld.

I think that guy maybe didn't move? lol pets attack whatever their owner attacks...

Only pets accessible in pre-sear that I've seen are teeny spiders (Can't remember name maybe Moss Spiders? seems familiar...) and Melandru Stalkers. My Ranger had a Melandru Stalker evolved into a Playful Stalker lol - I don't remember what level, but I changed it's name so I dunno what it would be after that. I know someone with a noob ranger so I'll see if they haven't changed they're pets name to see what the name changes to... hopefully he hasn't :)

Okay guys. The creators say that there's nothing different about ANY of the creatures you can charm, only looks.

I've got a bear I named "Teddy" with my lvl 11 ranger. No big woop. Just makes ppl do a doubletake because not many ppl have them.

So, yes, bears are tamable and the only reason why anyone gets them is because they're the second hardest creature to get early on. Why? Cause they're only in the icy mountains where all enemies are lvl 24 and up.

What's the hardest and rarest creature to tame you ask? The spider. Yes, that's right, I said "THE SPIDER"! Yes, you can tame one, but only in UW after you finish a quest. I suggest letting your creature go before you go down under. I haven't seen one personally, but I've seen pictures and am willing to get one myself if I'm going to consider myself the best as well as my guild I made the best.

(Having the rarest of the rarest "stuff" in Guild Wars brings lots of respect to you and your guild.)

Well, I one time wanted to have the lowest credibility on guildwars.gameamp and went almost to -200 in credit, but in the end decided to change my ways and have positive credit instead.
