Hasten changed again?

Just noticed today and just re-cchecked but Oni's Hasten recharge time has went down...now it's perma once again....did the dev's change thier minds after all the griping or what?

Mr Brightside has Hasten 5-slotted with Single Origin Recharge Reduction enhancements. I only have about a 5-10 second period without the power active. I'd say that's "perma" enough for me.

Is this on Test Server? I havent seen anything on the main forums or even on patches. I can say that if there was a such a change there would probably be mass rioting.

Hasten is one of those powers alot of people think they need. I think it is one of those abused powers, I dont hate the power it just everyone thinks in order for their hero to be good they must have it.

But I can say there have been no changes to Hasten.

I do have hasten on all my characters, but only to save slots for something else, having hasten means I dont have to use slots for increasing attack rate. *sigh* although I do have to agree with grif that the power is pretty much abused.

I fully agree with this statement. People find it shocking when I tell them I don't have Hasten on a character. I am not against it, I just don't think it should be used for every character. One of my deciding factors is whether my hero looks like he/she should with glowie hands. If the answer is "no", then I work around it. Right now I am involved in an experiment with my spines/regen character (Splinterbug) to try and build him without Hasten OR Fitness (gasp!). I am sick of the continual thought that you NEED to have Hasten and Fitness on every character... I will update when I have him in the higher levels. So far, so good.

I've got a regen too and I'm tryin to go without the fitness pool...so far quick recovery seems better...I have yet to run out of endurance in a fight yet and I had one last ngiht in the Atta mish that we aggroed 4 large mobs at one of the intersections and my endurance at the lowest got down to 25% after hasten wore off.

Of all my heroes only one has hasten and that is my main scrapper. I havent needed it on the others and really it only "fits" a few. As for fitness I have very few heroes (that are high enough) without it, I do find it nice, but you are right, by using end red you may do fine without. I do think that regen does lend itself well to not having it, and may not reflect the difference in other types. But let us know how it goes.

Yeah, I have had most regen people tell me that once you get instant healing you NEED Stamina to run everything. I will have a better idea in about 10 levels or so. If it doesn't work out, I will have to respec.

The only toon I run that has hasten is my dark/regen speedster scrapper. The reason I took it is because I'm keeping my attacks to simple mele attacks (punches) and I only have 3 attacks right now. The hasten keeps me punching away constantly, even with just three attacks.

Oddly, the regen scrapper is absolutly AMAZING, it's like playing as a six year old hiped up on pixie sticks laced with crack. I have never had a toon that can run from mob to mob and not have to worry about running out of stamina or health.

Then again, since I had so few attacks to chose from, it really wasn't that hard to work up my regen side of things.

Ok..I know there's been no official word on a change to hasten's recharge time however... just timed it and..

Oni's level 38, has hasten six slotted with level 40+ rec reductions... current recharge speed is 115 seconds by my stop watch, hasten duration is 120 seconds, and Triple checked. I am not losing my mind..lol

Hmm that is odd then. My scrap ran 5 SO's and has quickness and it was always perma even when SO's where white, I've never noticed any change. But with quicness that could be different. Sorry I couldnt help more.

I love my Regen, Mr. Decimal, who is now Lvl 43, I have no fitness powers, but use quick recovery 6 slotted. I also took conserve power with my first epic power and now that is also 6 slotted. Now this is the wierd part, I almost never use my Instant Healing Power, unless it's an absolute emergency or major boss or AV. I know right now the Regen communtity just screamed Blasphemy!! But with my build I have Resilience, Tough, Weave, and Integration (with 6 Heal Enhancements), so by not running IH all the time I never worry about endurance, and almost never worry about health because with Integration and Resilience my health come back pretty quickly.

I have thought about respecing to include Hasten, (I have 2 respecs stored up!!), but right now don't see the need...

I have never used hasten on one of my character before. I intend to get it for an empathy defender as some of the healing things later on take forever to recharge. If I put six slots on it does it mean it's constantly active? Or do I have to keep switching it back on when it wears off?

Most players use the "autofire" ability to keep hasten going. Press ctrl and click on the power, and it will automatically fire as soon as it can.

Welcome Felinor, it is good to have you! I would say to just slot it with recharges (SO's if you are a high enough level), and I am not sure how many it takes to make it "perma", but I am sure somebody can tell us...

Hasten and Stanima are the two coolest powers around. I think every build can use it. All my alts have it, or going to have it. Slot hasten with 6 recharge reducers to make it permanent. (of course after you ctrl-click it.) And slot stanima with 6 endurance reducers, and you will have a hard time running out of endurance. Of course you will have to be lvl 30 or so before you can have all the necessary slots, but plan ahead so that you have have it as early as possible.

I agree that the two powers in question are wonderful. Yes, hasten is totaly abused- I remember when i first joined the game! The first thing you learn as a newb is that people with glowie hands all the time are what a newb would call 'high level'. Most of my characters have it- unless of course they function fine without. And stamina, well I just hate when people ask me why my Emp doesn't have it. :P Some people must not pay attention to what powers actually DO and just to what they see the general population doing. Honestly, These two powers aren't set-in-stone-no-excuses Needed. But if you dont have quickness, or recovery aura, or quick recovery, etc... why waste the powers?

You're right, that really bugs me too. Healers get it the worst, it's like theres one build for a healer and if you don't follow it to the letter then you're off the team - worthless. Defenders have so many useful powers, but they're stuck taking tp, hasten, fitness pool powers as well as all healing moves. It gives healers very little scope to do anything BUT heal. Which is fine if thats all you want to do, but it can be boring, and a nightmare, nay, impossible to solo. Not very fun on a quiet night....

You want a defender with solo capability that doesn't have to heal all the time....grab a force field defender.

Make sure you grab the medical power pool powers sometime or another though.

Mainly the heal.

My force field/darkness defender is awesome.

Make enemies less accurate AND make us harder to hit.

I also Have a kenetic/elcetricity healer that reciveved a HUGE boost with the patch for defender end drain. I was already slotting end drain :).

As for hasten and stamina.

It all depends on the build.

Controllers could use both so as to be the most effective crowd control possible.

I'm afraid stamina is a great benifit to most hero characters though.

So my opinion.

Stamina helps most characters ALOT....excepting possibly regen...and suprisingly my energy blaster with perma conservepower.

Hasten....it's not needed. It CAN help...but so can other powers. My katana scrapper seems to hit constantly without any need for hasten for example.

Hasten is however a very useful power...even if not needed.
