hehe, i dunno how that got there, can't track it down myself (or haven't taken the time to get thorough enough).
That picture is actually not a tree, it's a Sand Worm (ya know, like Beetleguize?). They are high level monsters and have a monsterous amount of hit points. One is a challenge for a full group, 2 at a time can be very tricky.
You'll find them in the Crystal Desert, high level Shiverpeaks and Lornar's Pass.

LOL! How could you think that was a tree, seeing as it has a large ammount of teeth, a mouth, and a worm like body...

I didn't. How could you think I thought that was a tree? :-P
Though I have always said that the melee henchies figure like tree huggers to me... ;-)

you can find that worm exactly withing the white box
if you dont know where that is you can find a zoomed out picture here
also there is a less then 10% chance of out running them. they go underground and then come up below you dealing alot of damage and a knockdown. best thing to do when u see one is try to kill it and not have another one come by. also you will not see them on radar or above ground until it attacks.

No, that is definately not a tree. That is a sand wurm, around lvl 20. They are SOO FRIGGIN ANNOYING! They are found in the crystal desert, near the dunes of despair I think. They are like plague wurms; they pop up out of the ground when you don't want them to. And they pop up under you, doing around 100 dmg to you. It is hard tog et away from them.

I've been able to outrun them, Its seems they stay only within a confined area. Not 100% sure on this however.

UM LOL!!!
That pic is a EITHER a Seige Wurm found in an Ascension Mission (you dont have to kill ANY of them - although they can hit you with Seige Attacks - Esp. at the end when there are 3 of them... but as long as you have a Monk and another person near the end you are usually ok to kill them - just kill the first couple of waves first :D... Also - they are a so huge they do NOT move from their place. and don't come up out of the ground.)
OR A Wurm - on the way - to Dunes Of Despair where they pop up and are HORRID to you and knock you down and ya have to run for ya life lol
Dune Burrowers are a different kind and alot smaller - Also a completely different colour

That's defidently a Sand Wurm, but that type is not the one you should be too worried about. Ice Wurms are a fear to all runners because they not only knock you down, but they actually go back underground and follow you for a while. Then, if your one of the people who farm around the last 3 missions, you might have come across a Fire Wurm. They totally pwned my group because we had no idea it was out there.
I've heard about Chaos Wurms. Do those exist?

Funny, Gameamp was more dusty on my memory that this very tread, but now thanks to Jurai I'm on the site again.
And since I took the trouble to actually remembering my login, I decided to make it worthwhile with a brief account of my wurm experiences after the first post in the topic.
I posted a Wurmania series on the Screens section, here's the first one.
