Howdy,
I was running thru my mind, {and boy are my legs tired!}, a thought about the last CoH comic I received. {Where Horus and Warwitch buy it.} Wouldn't it be cool if one day you DID hear Backalley Brawler or Miss Liberty or any of the other NPC heroes put out a call to battle?
I think THAT would be far more enjoyable than faux fighting in an arena. You could proudly say, "Yeah, I was there the day Mynx lead us against the {Whomever} trying to destroy Skyway City." Anyone else's thoughts on the matter?

If there is one thing I feel CoH is poorly lacking is a dedicated Live Events tea, one oft he things the Matrix Online has over CoH is thjat its live events team always has peoople in their Live Eevents department acting in character and suchlike as they play key characters like Morpheus or Niobe.
I suppose after I5 goes live they can start moving the forwards at a faster pace now that they have everything basic done with CoH. Everything from now on is just more and more content.

You know I saw this same topic on the main forums before they were closed. I think it would be cool if they had live events. Massive monsters (not WL's) but multiple, threatening human controlled monsters. Something to give the heroes a run for their influence. Or even massive human controlled villain onslaughts against Steel Canyon or Talos Island.

I'm all for the human controlled monsters. How much would it rule seeing the Devouring Earth monsters take the fight to...Atlas Park?

Weren't some the Rikti controlled by human players, in the "Rikti Invasion" that was done in Beta right before the game went live?

I feel it's high time another Rikti attack was in order. None of the new players can even remember we HAD an invasion, and they have all that juicy code for Rikti motherships just lying about over at cryptic. Live events would add an entire new dimension to the game, especially if they weren't announced prior to initiation. It'd be realistic. "If you think our job sounded un-heroically easy, it's because we'd begun to think it was."

I have a better idea. Why don't we let the Hamidon destroy the arenas? Their weapons are certainly powerful enough.

I think a live event would be great. My thought for a higher level one would be a pratorian (or general portal) invasion of PI. First waves of praetorian "foot soldiers" then maybe some waves of monsters/machines etc come in then at some point the praetorian AV's with more monsters and such mega devices. Light up PI! and then make it a hazard zone for a while (there was a thread about the hazards changing but I haven't found it (work can be so inconvinient) YES a hazard zone no more I'm L1 PL MEH PLE MEH. ummm hmm anyway, that's my twisted thought.
Or for a more wide one a villain invasion just before COV goes live.

OH can you imagine the AVs smashing all the lvl ones...that would be glorious...I think that I would be one of those lvl 50s to be standing around laughing until all the PL MEs were down for the count and then might start doin somethin...fantastic idea!
