whats so good about the testing server do you lvl up faster or somethin?

The "Testing Server" is in place for several reasons. It allows you to try out something, ie. a certain build, power, etc. without having it made permanent in case you make a "mistake". It is also there for us to test out new features/issues to find bugs and help the devs gather data before they go live. It is really late, and I am tired, so I may have left something out.

What he said. Basically the Test Server is an "Open Beta" server. When they're testing new patches and new issues, they put them on the Test Server (Training Room) first. Once the issues have been tested openly by the devs and the players who are playing there, they get put onto the live servers.
You have the ability to copy your existing characters over to the test server, which does 2 things. First, it allows you to have whatever level character over there so that the devs can test higher level content. Secondly, it allows you to make changes to your character without having them committed. So you can RESPEC a character or change enhancements or whatever on there without fear of losing the RESPEC or whatever on the live servers.
