You look around and see a dim carvern that smells of rot. This is Dark Cavern, the best place for adventure. Traps, rotting bridges, and zombies! Doesn't it sound fun?

You can see glowing blue eyes lighting up the dank cave. They are coming from a dark figure. He is glowing lightly and is not paying attention to you. Suddenly, he floats into the air and the ground around him explodes. You now see a chest.
"I have Z'bravion, the book of darkness! Mwahaa!!!!!"

Now, as you know, Dark Cavern is famous for its necromancy. Many a traveler have died at the hands of a zombie. This figure was here for the forgotten books of magic. Hmm, now what do these do? I'll take a wild guess and say necromancy!

Now, he starts to move again. This time, he steps on a sensor. A thousand arrows shoot all at him. He disappears... and reappears two yards ahead!

"I'll take that book, if you don't mind."

"Not the book!" he screams as he gets sucked in.
In his final moments of life, he summons a force field around himself, breaking free of the tentacles and trapping enough air in to escape the tar pit.
"WHERE DID YOU GO!!!!" he screamed.
He runs off as he heard a noise coming from the north. This time he summons a lowly zombie to act as a decoy for any traps.
"I SHALL find you!" he shouted and once again he ran off. "The books shall be mine..."

Lord Xenophon speaks the incantation for safe handling of the book. He teleports to the safe tile next to the pedestal and carefully replaces the book in its trap. While he is at it, he adds a few new spells to further safeguard the book:
If the thief so much as breathes on the book again, 6 Dao and a Tenebrious Tentacles spell will rise out of the ground to defend it.
The soul of a deceased member of the Circle of Skulls is watching the book from the beyond.
The book itself is hidden in the folds of a Gloom spell, which will crawl up the arms of the thief and onto his face if he touches the book.
Having secured the book, Lord Xenophon casts Hover to keep out of reach of the nastiest traps, then teleports away in pursuit of the thief.

"Come on out!" he shouted.
The F'Drawd were not a stupid people. They were agile thieves and quick assasians. Eci wanted to prove to the world they were more than that. He was a master of necromancy and could not be defeated. Or so he thought...
He performed a ritual and brought to life the mummy of Surdon, the king of the F'Drawd.
"I have to go now, Surdon, and now I charge you to guard this area. Do NOT let anyone pass!" he whisper to him. " Guard this area with your life!"
And so began the Gorlth, the sacred war for the books of necromancy.
"Let the games begin..."

*chuckles quietly*
Lord Xenophon marvels that the thief would charge the dead to guard anything with their lives, especially against a powerful necromancer. He has no life!
"Mummy, get an afterlife!" He says to the mummy, backing it up with a minor incantation.
The mummy turns and begins stubmling toward Lord Xenophon, who is hovering over a pit. The mummy falls into the pit. It makes a loud splatting noise as it finds the bottom.

"So, he fell for it! He should have know better."
Eci closed the scrying mirror and went to the back of the cavern. He called upon his magic and resummoned his mummy friends. He enforced the mummy so he wouldn't be destroyed so easily.
"He is good though. But that book was MINE! He shall give me the book or pay the consequences! Time for the end!"
Quickly, he brought forth a giant portal. It lead to the Netherworld, the land of the dead.
"Here it goes..."
He jumped into the portal, transforming him into a demon.
"Drati Illu Gret!"

"So, you finally show your true face! I knew all along you were from the Circle of Thorns! I will not allow the ancient dead to threaten the living! Now I shall banish you to the bottom of the Abyss!"
Lord Xenophon surrounds the demon in so many dark spells, he finds himself unable to see and barely able to move. Then he is battered with blasts of dark energy...

Where am I, he thought. Ever since he jumped in the portal, he had felt another presence that took over his body. He now looked through the eyes to the world.
"That fool!!! He cannot destroy this demon with dark magic! It is a creature from the Netherworld... so that means... I'm coming, demon!"
He felt a sudden pulse of energy and fell to the floor, knocked out.

Lord Xenophon teleports to the falling man and quickly casts a spell of exorcism. Demon and host are separated.
"Never underestimate the power of the dark defender, demon. I know as much about the forces of life and death as Old Scratch himself."
With a single arcane gesture, Lord Xenophon teleports the demon into the portal, then he casts Howling Twilight. The demon is stunned, unable to act, while at the same time his former host is revived. The demon is unable to stop Lord Xenophon as he performs the ritual to close the gate, sealing him into the Abyss.
"Have you learned your lesson yet, young fool, or do you still want to posess that book? You will find nothing in there but the means to be controlled by demons such as that one. Return to the surface, while you still can."

"My head..."he whispered. "No, they are gone! My powers! I feel so weak..."
He then felt an odd sensation. It was a cross between peace and light. It also felt powerful, very powerful
What is this weird power, he thought, and how do I use it?
"Ligrith!" he said. He then brought forth a beam of light from his hands. "I no longer need necromancy. I have found light in darkness and brought honor to my people! Thank you for your help!" He then left with the honor of his people and his new found powers.
