Re: Beating your mirrior

Plz tell me if this theory works.

you all know your mirror is 4 times as good as you. If you have 12 points on fire magic, he will have 48 points. At least thats what i heard. If you put all your points to 0 it will have 4x0 and thats 0. that means it will be as strong as you are. If you understand the skills that you own you will be much better.

Re: Beating your mirrior

you could go do the guide section and try the strategy for warrior/elementalist, and that might help you get an idea of something to do (dont have an ele that far yet so closest i could do was a secondary). major things are to not put attacks that are good by themselves. combos are much more efficiant.

Re: Beating your mirrior

a bit off topic...

Thought i just might add...I'm a Necro/Warr an it is just 2 easy. Some tips 2 any 'Necro' players out there.

All i have in my skill bar is:

All 5 of the health sacrificing skills (Defile Flesh & Dark Fury etc)and awaken of the blood (which increases 50% of health lost with these skills :P) and sprint.

My stupid mirror used these in order (awaken of blood first) and this completly screwed up his HP. He sprinted over 2 me, 2 slashes with my sword and then he died :P pfft way 2 easy.

I have an idea but if your mirrior 4x as good as you that would be imposable.

Re: Beating your mirrior

I don't know where you're pulling these numbers from. Your mirror is your duplicate, it's not 4x the strength of you, that's ridiculous. It's really not as hard as people make it out to be. You just have to do some pre-planning and go in prepared. If you don't beat him the first time, change your tactics and try again.

Re: Beating your mirrior

I beat my fire e/r with one spell. If you're like me and had around 400hp, 4 hits from meteor shower will kill you, and if that doesn't, use meteor and a few flares. Elementalists are easy to kill, just don't equip any good ranger skills that will knock you down.

Re: Beating your mirrior

I heard from a friend that he was 4 times as strong... guess thats wrong. Ill always try to find a way around, i just thought of something, does your mirror have a pet if you are a ranger and got charm animal? If he doesnt you can use pets skills only, and beat him with your pet. Put 12 points in pet mastery and 12 in expertise, Use skills like pet attack and pet speed. Maybe that will take him down.

well i have to agree that the mirror is not 4x as strong, but i think it is stronger. since when i use gladiators defence it deals back 21damage when he misses, and when he used it i took 27 damage. i think thats how much it deals if it is maxed. so maybe all his skills have max points in them, but im really not too sure

That could very well be the case - the mirror having a 12 in all your skills.

On another note, since you can do all those quests in the desert to change your subclass, the easiest thing for you non-necros to do would be to run the necro quest, equip a necro sub with the skills listed in my guide, go beat your mirror, then come back and switch your subclass back to the original. How's that for sneaky, eh?

well it wouldn't be too sneaky since u have to get to droknars forge before you can do the 2ndary profession change quest. and i think just beating mirror would be alot easier then a larnors pass run. you would have to beat mirror once before you can change, but a necro 2ndary sounds easy for a redo to get bonus

Re: Beating your mirrior

Your mirror is definitely "stronger" than you are. I can only assume that mine had maxed out stats, armor, and a pretty nasty weapon. I suspect that they have attributes higher than 12 actually, since I have 12's for most of the spells I cast and if I remember correctly the mirror's spells were stronger.

Regardless I defeated her.

What are you talking about? You don't have to go to Droknar's to get the secondary profession quests, those are in the Crystal Desert - Seeker's Passage, Destiny's Gorge, and Hero's Audience - depending on the sublcass you're looking for. Infact, you have to do at least one of them before you can do the attribute point quest in Droknar's when you get there.

i had heard that you couldn't do 2ndary profession quest until you had done a quest called something like the hero's journey or something. and its the one where you have to go to seekers passage, destiny gorge, and heros audaicne

will check around and see what more information i can find

here we go

Re: Beating your mirrior

No, you are misunderstanding that. Let me explain:

  • In the Desert you get the quests to change your secondary profession.
  • Also in the Desert is one of the quests to get 15 additional attribute points (The Forgotten Ones).
  • In Droknar's Forge is the second quest for another 15 attribute points (The Hero's Journey).

In order to do either of the attribute points quests, you must first do at least one of the secondary profession quests. Each quest for the secondary professions starts in one of those three towns I mentioned earlier.

You do not have to go to Droknar's and then come back to do the profession quests. You can do the profession quests at any time, where as you can only start the attribute point quests after you have completed at least one profession quest.

no, i think u misunderstood me lol. the hero's challenge (not journey) is the one that gives the 15 attribute points. ive heard that hero's journey is the one that is required for the 2ndary proffesion quest to start

Re: Beating your mirrior

ive heard a lot of things about beating your mirror before. first thing i ever heard was that you should bring a lot of spells or curses that hurt you. by doin this your mirror will hurt himself/herself before they get to you and then a few swift strikes will do the rest. another thing about the 4 times better than you is a load of crap. if my mirror had 4X my swordsmanship and my death magic no one could beat him.:) 4X16=16 swordsmanship....even with the best armor hed probably still do at least 100dmg every shot.
the third thing ive heard is that if you put all your stats down to 0 you have a better chance of beating your mirror. i tested this and it is false. if you mirror is the same as you then he would have the same armor and weapon, this would actually decrease your chance of winning because of the fact that your spells will deal less damage and giving your mirror more of a chance to beat you.
finnally dont bring healing spells!!! when i first fought my mirror i thought it was going to be impossible, fortunatley i had no healing spells with me, once i got my mirrors health down a little over half 3 swift chops finished him off. with my necro/warr it took me at least 10 tries to beat him because i had all health stealing spells. with a necro you want to bring spells that take away your health and by the time your mirror gets to you he'll have less than half health.
well this is just my input but it worked for me. GOOD LUCK!

LOL, well, whatever the heck it's called, as far as I know, you don't have to visit Droknar's first to get it. However, now that I think about it, I had come through Lornar's Pass to Droknar's Forge before ascending, so I can't be too sure. But you definitely don't have to ascend first.

Re: Beating your mirrior

To further muddy the waters...

I got and completed the first attribute point quest prior to ascending.

I don't think you can change your subjob prior to ascending (normally) because I went to all of those towns, but they wouldn't give me any quests. The quest from Droknar's Forge supposedly unlocks the quests in those areas. In any case, I couldn't change my subjob that I know of. So unless you took a long nasty path to get to Droknar's early....

well shadowwraith went through lonars pass..so i guess you can do the 2nd prof quest without ascending, but i think ascending is easier then lonars pass lol.

Absolutely. That's interesting though that you have to visit (and probably speak to a certain NPC in) Droknar's before the profession quests become available. I guess I'll find out for sure when my second character gets there. :P

Yes, I realize that. When I first replied, I didn't think you had to get to Droknar's, because I hadn't even ascended when I did them. But later on when I posted...

I remembered I had made the hellish trip down lornar's pass, so I could have triggered whatever circumstances needed to be triggered before I actually did the quests in the desert.
