DYE COMBINATIONS

IVE HEARD OF A FEW>>>>
GOLD=SILVER+YELLOW
GREEN=YELLOW+BLUE
ORANGE=YELLOW+RED
PURPLE=RED+BLUE

The order of which dyes are mixed does not matter. The game has its own internal ordering for which dye is the primary color and which is the secondary - it isn't completely straightforward either. Red/Orange/Yellow always dominates over Green/Blue/Purple, but Green dominates Blue, Blue over Purple, and Purple over Green. There might be some odd stuff going on with Red/Orange/Yellow.

If you have any other combos you can post em to help people out.

well. i think thay they have the dyes glitched somehow. if red+blue=purple. and generally purple is cheaper then red or blue by themselves...they should make the primary colours cheap and the secondary colours more expensive imo.

also a set of nice colors are
____+silver+black

yea the colors are are definitley glitched, but another thing about dyes are how your armor or what you are dying effects the color. certain armor will have different effects on the dye. to get the exact look you want youll have to play around with it. another thing higher level armors have different color effects.

yea i was having trouble getting good dye combos and ive wasted about 10 of each dye{except black :)}

Silver + Yellow + Yellow = Gold... try it.
I got a golden collored Flatbow. I think this combo works better on lighter bows coz my bow is still a bit dark-gold

yea like i said before the color system is kinda glitched. the colors all depend on how your color of you base of what your dyeing. for example on my other account in gw....yes i did pay of r 2 versions;)...i have a mesmer/necro. on my mesmers mask i tried to dye it gold and the mask was an off white. it turned my mask purple???!!! well anyways...

i also know one.

The Wyvern armor comes with red dye already on it, right? well i did an experiment, and put dye remover on it, and out came the color gold.

Sometimes mobs will drop dye when you kill them, or you can buy it from other players, or from Dye Traders in big towns. (There's one near the merchants in Old Ascalon)

yeah removing dye on new armour works on a few different sets of armour, but others are already the base colour.

Ok i have a problem i wanted either a dark red or a rich red but red seems to come out a bit *cough* pink

i was thinking if i mixed red+red would it be more red or just the same?

and how dark would mixing one black be..

its a shame theres no preview feature

When I buyed my Ascalon armor it was already dyed red (which I didn't know) and somebody told me to use dye remover and it turned out to be already gold so I think that all armors are standard dyed. A pic of my armor is on my profile!:)

I found a really cool/lifelike gold color. Mix gold dye with black dye! Gives a nice "luster-shine" finish! ^_^

(Very expensive color.)

Well, I one time wanted to have the lowest credibility on guildwars.gameamp and went almost to -200 in credit, but in the end decided to change my ways and have positive credit instead.

Well I mixed the normal primary colours Blue and yellow and they came out a disgusting really bright green colour, nothing like what you can get at traders... same with mixing standard blue and standard red - it came out a fuschia like colour (pinky purple) which i didnt like - i was looking for purple.
My preference colour is purple, although I would like to see purple/silver and purple/black - I haven't seen them

I found a nice page with dye combinations; Haven't tried it yet, but I think you people should check it out anyways. Theres also a Dark Red there, not *cough* Pink as some1 said ;)

I used blue + silver as an experiment on my necro chestpiece and it did turn out as a light silvery-blue. I think it looks kinda nice, but the silver is kinda expensive. I wanna try Purple + silver really, when i get to, i will let ya know.

Hmm, I like the color chart idea (the link posted earlyer).

Anyway, I hope they make mixed dyes vissible in the vial. That should not be so hard to do and it would help a lot :).

Hey everyone,

Why isn't there a larger size flask for dye mixing? It seems wasteful that 1 silver plus 1 yellow makes 1 vial of gold dye! It doesn't make sense! Some people blend four dyes together to get just one flask of dye! The fan page http://armageddon.tpon.net/mII.htm shows a nice piece of armor in a blended gold color made of Yellow, Orange, Orange, and Silver. Wouldn't a larger size flask make the whole dye industry a lot better? I mean we lose so much of the product, just to get colors that people really like.

I have a suggestion for making this work. Take a piece that's already there in the game and give it a secondary purpose. It needs to be a container, easily accessible to newcomers, and free. No disrespect to Althea (They're selling her ashes), The Baradin family urn meets these three criteria. Give it a secondary purpose for dye mixing.

I contacted The Guild Wars support team - they have had feedback with ideas to solve this problem, but none have been acted upon, and the representative seemed fairly enthusiastic about this solution. I think enabling Althea's Urn as a dye mixer would work perfectly. Whad'ya think?

Just something I would like to say. I used a blue dye on my chaos axe and it turned red. I dont know if the color system is opposite on chaos axes but it is a possibility. Also dont use dyes on eternal shields because they turn colors in your menu but not in game. Hope that saves you guys some money. lol.
