Im having trouble deceiding on if dull pain is even worth learning.
I have read guide after guide, and the guides seem to be split 50/50 on the power. And all the pros and cons are always specified in the guide. It seems to me that this power is just a personal perference by player by player.
I was wondering u guys opinion?

I personally think it's worth getting as kind of an "emergency situation" power. Basically when you get low on hp, dull pain will give you a few more to survive until the healer can hit you a few times.

My lvl 30 tanker has Dull Pain, and I love it. Every time I am about to charge a group of baddies, I turn this baby on and become nearly invincible. With one SO-"increase heal" I gain around 600 life. It can be used in emergency situations, but I like to use it in the beginning so that there will never be an emergency situation. I would recommend Dull Pain to anyone who can get it.

My level 37 tanker doesn't have it. If you get in over your head and health goes down, you need a really good heal to compensate that. Which means you need to add a couple of slots dull pain. I think you are better off putting those slots in your defenses. You want to concentrate on getting aggro and kicking butt. There is no better healing then not getting hurt at all.

Love Dull Pain. Love it. Unslotted, with my regen scrapper, it added over 100 HP to my bar when I first got it. Every level I go up, the more HP it gives me. It is an essential emergency bail-out power, and has given me the edge in every close matchup I have been involved in.

you dont lost hp when dull pain get off, it only reduce the maximum hp you can have, if your already damaged you dont loose a single hp only your maximum potentiel.
if you have normally 200 hp and use dullpain to reach 250. start fighting drop at 198. your at 198/250 then dullpain get off, your get back at 198/200.
undestand? no HP loss, no need for a furious healing.
of course if you were full at 250/250 you will be reduce at 200/200 but you still not in trouble :).

Umm, I may be incorrect, but i think some of you see Dull Pain as a healing power. This is not the real purpose of the move, the way I see it. Dull Pain may increase your hp when you activate it, but it also increases the MOST POSSIBLE hp you can have. So, if you activate this before a fight, unlike a healing power, it increases your max hp, thus effectivly 'healing' damage that didnt exist. So, in effect, this IS a defensive power, like an armor of sorts, and not a heal. So the way I see it, get this move perma. You can't lose.

Another question about this power, is there a max hp increase you can get by adding slots or will the hp stop increase after three slots, for example travel powers maxing there speed after three slots?
Thx yall have swayed me into choosing the power

I don't know if there is a max, but I would recommend you slotting your other defenses first, and not making Dull Pain a priority. I have not slotted mine on my regen scrapper, and it is working out just fine for me. And it gets better every level.

Had Dull Pain on my scrapper and used it all the time. Never got it on my Invul tank, and have'nt needed it yet. Although it could come in very handy during the end game. Against Hami.

Dull Pain for a Regen Scrapper is definitely a must. I have a lvl 50 MA/Regen and it has bailed me out of a lot of serious situations. I think there is a limit to the max HP you can achieve though (not sure on the math and all). I only have mine 5 slotted (1 rate reduction and 4 heal SO's). This takes me from near death (flashing red) to full health. The other thing about dull pain (and correct me if i'm wrong, it's been a while since I had my scrapper out) is that it reduces the amount of damage you actually take (again not sure on the math end). Dull pain is a must as early as you can get it. And if you don't have this one either, Instant Heal works wonders as well. With these two working together, turns me into a mini tank. The healing never stops! Then to top it all off, at lvl 41, I took the body mastery epic pool and got conserve power......do the math on that one..lol. I can stand up with the best of the AV's with this mix.
