Can any one tell me what hand2hand, staffs/wands, and bows are good?

Alright, the straightforward blunt answer: the ones that you fit the requirements for that have the highest damage.
Without knowing anything more about your character and your playing style I can't possibly make any suggestions. For the most part, I've found that the weapon drops you get as you go through the missions in guild wars are pretty good for each area that you go through (though they aren't the "ultimate uber weapons" or anything like that).

Well, first off - you're an Ele/Ranger - you shouldn't even look at melee weapon, let alone pick one up and use it. If you have points in Marksmanship, a bow does more damage than a wand or staff... BUT, it's two handed, which means you'll be sacrificing any +energy bonuses you'd get from using a wand/staff/focus item.
If it were me, I'd stick to a wand + focus item.

i would agree with shadowwraith on the wand+focus. but also its a good idea to have the wand an focus have the same type of requirement as the element your putting attribute points in. since it is a good idea i think early game to go with fire or lightning element, i would search for a lightning or fire required item, preferebly one that gives energy.

Fire is definitely the way to go for PvE. The other elements simply don't have the AoE power that Fire has, which is what everyone wants an Ele in the group for.
This is a generalization of course, because each magic has different kinds of spells, but for the majority is:
Fire = Good damage, multiple targets (Direct Damage Area of Effect and Splash Damage).
Air = Great damage, one target (Armor Penetration).
Water = Some damage, mostly hexes (Status Ailments).
Earth = Some damage, mostly defense (For you or your party members).

i would life to add additional information to some of your summaries
Air + also has knockdown
Water + also slows enemy movement
Earth + also usually boost physical defence

I am using this combo and I am actually using a bow for this character. I will say though to pick the bow carefully. The one I have does more dmg than wand/focus, has +5 energy, and enchantment bonus (in other words, it seems fit for this character). Now, I must admit that I haven't got too far post searing yet (just started char today),but so far I have been using fire magic and the marksmanship skills and this combo (with the bow) has been devastating. I very rarely see my health bar go below 75% and enemies go down fast. Try it out. The worst that will happen is that you will get whomped once or twice and will have toget a wand.
