How can Paragon Radio raise money?

So.. was listening in today and it sounds like Paragon Radio may be in trouble. 60 GIGS a day in bandwidth throughput.. is that right?? So the quality of broadcasts have been lowered (booo!) and who knows what else may have to happen.. and leaves the future of P.R. in question.

I can honestly say P.R. is the best radio station ANYWHERE.. I don't even bother listening to the traditional FM dial anymore.. and i'm tellin you there is HUGE potential here. You have professional sounding DJ's, and an excellent collection of 80's, 90's rock, trance and pop culture. Everything todays MMPOG culture wants to hear.

You have something you could seriously make a lot of money with marketing wise. Get some sponsorship! Get some advertising.. we'd understand believe us. Hold an all week fund raiser for better bandwidth.. find a large company that can spare the bandwidth and petition their marketing department for support in return for regular advertising.

All you need is a rough count of players in CoH, and if possible get a rough number of P.R. listeners. If it's as big an audience as I think it is, it would be a persuasive argument for advertising dollars. Go after any company associated with comics, computers, toys and collectibles, movies and pop culture. In-game you could have the DJ's dressed in company colours with a logo (Cola-man?).. they seem to attract a HUGE audience on good nights.

If i'm around the computer, Paragon Radio is ON.. I don't want to lose it and would be happy to help it stay in business.

Oh believe me, none of us want to lose PR...even though we don't get paid to do our jobs, we still love doing it.

Rest assured we will try every avenue to ensure that we stay on the air :)

I'm sending the code to add the link to this website now. But honestly, the best way for us to make sure Paragon Radio stays around for a long time.. is to branch out a bit and start selling ad time and sponsorship. Eventually donations will run out and we will be in the same boat we were when we started but the last thing we want to do is lose our fun and funk.

I love paragon radio.. its my baby :) So i'm not going without a fight!!

I was listening to RW and Buddha this morning and they mentioned that 2 of the DJ's had sold their blood for station funds=)

Funny coincidence, I work at the Canadian Blood Bank (Blood Services), in the lab...but the Canadian Blood supply is all donated, we don't pay for the juice.

I'm a Canadian as well.. and yeah sadly a blood drive here wouldn't raise any money.. although the bloob bank would LOVE the influx of new domations hehe.

In Canada, we have to hold garage sales to make any money lol.

I used to donate blood (Canadian as well) but they dont want it anymore....Something about piercings and tattoos they are against for a year... =(

Although I have heard I can get mucho monies for my blood in the US, is it true they pay different for your type?

Anyway, soon as I get some more funds in my paypal account again, I'd be happy to throw some cash at my favourite readio station

Makes sense that the rarer blood types would be worth more, I suppose. Encourages them to get up and do something to help their fellow man.

We Brits get the promise of a biscuit and a cup of tea after letting the spotty 16 year old Nurse doing her work experience stab through our arms with the needle and try to drain blood from the mattress we lie on.

When we realized that Paragon Radio was pulling 60 gigs a day instead of what we originally projected, we about had a stroke. lol But rest assured that those of us at GameAmp that love Paragon Radio as much as you guys will do ....will do everything in our power to help.

We are looking at every avenue for funds. We would prefer our listeners not have to donate. We are looking for sponsorship because it is harder to just charge a fee since anything regarding COH is owned by cryptic and ncsoft which means we would have to change the station name.

We are checking into the possibility of selling Tshirts, and such.

Anyway, we don't get paid for any of this its a labor of love, so please remember this when your listening.

We thank you for generosity and appreciate all our listeners.

OH! and regardless of the rummors my physical well being is fine and I don't need donations for new heart :) lol.

To be honest I wouldn't mind having ads to view to keep PR going. I love listening to it a lot, mostly the DJs, I have my own music I can listen to. It is the DJs and other people you meet I stay for :). So to keep it around if you had to have adds on your page and maybe a few commercials I think it'd be worth it.
