Re: can i have support or not?

Well here is the issue. Custom skins don't work with UTcomp. While I do not know the specifics I can give you my spin on it.

The custom skin issue would involve supporting specific skins. It would be next to impossible to support all skins. Furthermore the target of Utcomp is the competitive community, and NO competitive player uses custom skins, to be more specific most use gorge.

People have asked for custom skin support before, and I don’t think custom skins will ever be supported. The ECE skins are the only ones supported (IIRC again) because they are semi official. The answer to custom skins has been no.

As for the server loop error, I will ask around on that. This is the first I have heard of it, so I’m not sure what it is at this time.

Re: can i have support or not?

its probally built in to stop custom models... fear of people using giant glowing yellow blocks and having everyone scream out of the utcomp guys that its all their fault these people cna cheat with their custom models...

just a theory... I honestly think people cry to much about cheating...

Doubtful. I have plenty of custom skins & models installed that work beautifully with UTComp (Necris skins for example). Others aren't so lucky & will turn pure white. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure that it's something having to do with the way the skin/model is made itself. Take that & combine it with UTComp's brightskins, and it b0rks. I don't think UTComp alone is causing it, nor is UTComp at fault. I'd hazard that if you compared working skins to skins that don't work, there would be some inherent difference.

Re: can i have support or not?

Skins which are made non-standard (aka, not Textures) like the default skins produced by epic will sometimes be caused to turn completely white. So, custom models which are non-standard (once again, not standard textures) are automatically disabled and set to your fallback character (arclite by default)when using brightened skins.

There are no exceptions made for ECE skins or anything like that, it is just a check for whether or not the skins are TEXTURES like the standard skins included by epic.

LMAO

I guess living in denial is one way of coping with reality.
