No love, just pain

I play a empath healer on Freedom. I have 70-80 badges (I stopped counting after 60) and one of those badges is Doctor. Doctor is the one you get after 2 MILLION points of healing. And all my healing was in-team, balls to the wall, type of activity. No one never would have or never will find me at the tram with my healing aura on auto.

So I say all this because I often find myself in large groups, alone, keeping track of controllers and blasters whose sum hit point total equals about 10. Not the easiest task when you're knee deep in lvl 41 bosses and luis, trying to keep the status effects off. I try my best, every game, every mission. I do this because I experience the most fun after a successful mission, not while being prasied during a failing one.

This does not mean I enjoy the unwaranted 'advice' on how to play my toon or the ouright insults when playes die becasue something we all know is a bad idea:

Blasters up front
Aggroing mobs w/out telling anyone
Advancing when I'm afk

You get the point.

I'm not asking for much, not even a thank you, I play a healer to heal. To keep everyone alive as much as possible, as often as possible. But I'm just one dude. If you don't have anything nice to say, keep your dam mouth shut.

Or next time the only green you'll see will be when your toon is pushing up daisies.

Interesting to see that even the healers get that kind of treatment. I get that stuff all the time just because everybody assumes that just because I'm a defender, I must be a healer. I have 6 defenders, and not one of them is a healer. My rad doesn't even have a healing power, and he still gets yelled at for not healing anyone.

I think you sum'd it up nicely... those who complain find themselves dead... very often.

I've totally fallen for the defender class.. my emp is awesome and my new Dark/rad is SOOOOO much fun to play.. I can barely wait to get home and play again.

Nothing annoys me more than reckless tanks and scrappers. One mis-step by these guys and the whole group is running or dead.
Although.. it doesn't take them long to realize and learn 'the hard way' that if they dont stay close to me, they are going to die... and ... I'm not too proud to run anymore. 8-)

I have my dark on gaurd and my emp "parked" on triumph and I have run into this problem. As for the comment on running, my personal philosophy. If we are knee deep in it and the team is doing what they are supposed to I will stand and if needed fall "protecting" the team. But if someone is being stupid they are on the bottom of my heal list. Now if a good hero makes a bad mistake I will do all I can within reason, but I mean if a "bad" player gets into it repeatedly, i'm not risking a lot for him.

It becomes apparent very quickly who the troublemakers are in a group. Even with a team made up of good players, one bad egg can ruin a mission for everyone. Heal Sensei (emp/dark def) has seen his fair share of bad eggs. And for some reason he is always getting invited to those missions where the group has started the mission and realized that they have made no progress and everyone has died twice at least. Those teams seem to have multiple bad eggs. Heal Sensei tries to do the best that he can but there is only so much one defender can do for a team that won't cooperate.

Lol yeah I've had those teams usually they go in and die a lot and think Hmm we need a healer. It's like you drop a match in gas and it starts a fire and burns some of your stuff, you do it again same result then you realize the solution, "I need a fire extinguisher".

Sometimes you know what to expect from the journey to the mission from the team chatter. "Hey you can rez right?", and "can you TP the bodies?" or just whatever they are saying to each other like "man dead again! that's the third time."

I have actually warned a team that if they kept going too far and aggroing a bunch of groups I would leave and it's the old strike out. after 2 warnings (not 1st time they did it) third time i'm out.

A lot depends on the team.

I understand that mistakes do happen, but repeating them is grounds for a self-preservation policy.

Perhaps it's just the nature of my Dark Def, but I LOVE rez'ing 4 or more teammates at once with Howling Twilight, midway through a battle. I almost always die immediately afterwards, the power draws so much aggro, but the lightshow/animations and 'turning the tide of battle' is worth the dept.

Hmm I seem to love defenders and controllers.

I DO NOT do empathy :P.

I'm not gonna set ym entire game aside to baby sit just to recieve punishment from morons who don't know what they are doing....that and I'm a hybrid person :P.

I like Force Field, Storm, Kinetics, Rad...pretty much all but empathy lol.

I can and will be the line between you living and dieing risking myself if needed...but only if your pulling your wieght as well.

If your a nut....you will live a nut....and die a nut...and I'll telly ou what you did wrong and watch you not learn....then laugh at you when you die again....and again....till your kicked.

A good team understands a good healer and there's nothing sweeter than watching a good tank/scrapper doing his/her thing safe in the knowledge that you're watching his/her back

If he still DOES get hit then I use aid other so it's all good.
