What shape is your kheld in?

I have been working on my PB. I have chosen to be a tri-form and so far I enjoy it. Some of the things I like are the ability to adapt to the situation. On a melee heavy team I can go squid and do serious damage (assuming aggro control". I can also go in human for good damage if the squid aggro is too strong or an enemy comes at me quicker than I can take him down. The dwarf is good for "light tanking" (more of a bradley than an Abrahms). It also helps if the tank(s) get in over their heads I can lend a hand. I have also found it nice to open in squid mode, fire a few volleys and change to tank to greet the coming enemies. When I am in a group without a tank I also like to snipe in squid go around corner and transform. this is nice because it's kind of like a tank sniping. With a normal shipe there is a chance the sniper might get too much aggro and go down with this technique it is not likely that I can be put down before the rest of the team can help (less I dont see a quant in the group I pull). In some combat if the group thins as I'm "tankin'" I go human for additional damage with some defense. Overall I like the flexibility of a tri-form.

Also squid is good for hoverblasting.

Anyway this is how I set up my kheld and why. What form(s) does your Kheld use and what techniques do you use?

I have no reached 20+ and earned my 2nd to last form (the last being Light Form). About 85% of the time I use Bright Nova. What's that? Ah, great question! The gentleman in front asked why! Why indeed do I primarily use Bright Nova, its has excellent AoE and quick recharge single attack powers. Plus the increased flight speed is nice for hasty get aways.

I have learned that if need more power to de-Bright Nova, activate Rage (or whatever its called) and then re-Bright Nova. I can then take down enemies even quicker. In cases of where I am stunned or lose my Bright Nova I like to just use Human form and run my major AoE attack (forget the name but it looks cool, jumps in the air and slams the ground w/ fist). I have used White Dwarf but not as much, I havent had a reason to tank. Reason being I found a weakness in the enemy, if you hover just above them in Bright Nova (or Warshade equivalent) the enemies dont know what to do and sometimes do not shoot at you. It happens every once in awhile.

I did it much the same. I use my squid to act as a blaster when with a heavy melee team. I use the dwarf to help "tank" when the team needs it. I feel it's better to be able to adapt to the situation at hand. Just my two cents.

I pretty much have the tri-form doing pretty much what you do, depending on the team. For most teams, if we have a tank or a good scrapper I'll stay in blaster form, then change to tank for tough fights... simply because my human form is kind of sub par, and needs some re-specing before it'll really be any good... but I keep putting it off. :)

when I'm solo... which I am semi-frequently. I'm pretty much in Nova... which sounds risky, but can be quite rewarding, especially knowing that you can be your own tank when you health get's uncomfortably low. Also in Human form (at least with a WS) I can go into Nebulus Form when times get tough... it's the WS's Phase Shift. Sucks End like crazy, but has saved me the debt on many occasions :)

To be honest I almost never use my human form. I am almost always in Nova or Dwarf form. Because of this I have placed almost all of my earned enhancement slots in my two Kheldian forms for maximum alien goodness. Dwarf form is amazing, if you six slot it with Dmg Res SOs it is almost as good as most tanks and in some cases better (I am assuming that in this case the tanks were not slotted very well).

This may change once I hit 32 however as I will be getting pets and I am not sure how that will work with the other two forms.

First, the power ur talkin about grif is incandecent strike...my favorite power in the whole game.

My squid is all human and all offense.... I made him mostly a scrapper with range but I don't have the shields, I use reform essece and the dull pain type power. The self heal comes back real fast and i dont even have any recharges in it. I like the buildup incandecnt to start the fight with and the orange minoon is down for the count....solar flare comes next, get it slot it love it, that is my big AoE and alota the baddies go flyin so I use my ranged attacks...at some point I will let off photon seekers and let them do their thing....throw in a radiant strike and then cap the fight off with dawn strike and a big group is down.

It's fun havin so many offensive powers that I can still adapt to most situations even just having one form. And while in light form (4 recharges and 2 dam resist) you can take +4 bosses no problem solo...just takes some time.

Seems the khelds have so many different powers and sets its not easy to pick powers and stick with it. I think I may need to make another one or two just to try the possibilities.

Argh!! I want a kheld! My main is only on 30 and it takes forever to lvl! It's been two months!! I don't want to be stuck with a blaster I want the all powerful Kheldian!

right now my kheld is 3 form. my nova is heavily slotted, and after respec dwarf has no xtra slots on him. rarely ever use dwarf, just as a last resort for the heal, as i havent picked up the heal yet.

i generally go into nova, for the AoE's to soften the mob up. then finish off with my human attacks. i LOVE incandescent strike, and the upper cut punch(which i dont remember the name of) i plan on getting more human attacks as i get closer to 50. I keep hearing ppl say the PB is easier to lvl than a WS. i tried a WS and didnt like it much. im not much for controller/enemy based powers.

its kind of nice to be able to solo now and then, when my buddies arent on. which is quite often lately. summer and vacations and all that, sadly im a homebody and never go anywhere lol.

To be honest, I've tried both PB and WS, I liked the WS better, but, just can't get into it. I love my little WS and for the most part she kicks butt. I have gotten her to level 11, but, with the missions and the resistance of people wanting to help me fight CoTs, I just can't solo her anymore and have all but shelved her. I would love to get her to level 20 just to see the tank form, but, with the Archary set looming in the near future, she will probably be the one I "retire" from the line up to make room on Triumph server.

I mainly soloed my WS to his current lvl of 27. Although he quite the debt magnet (Damn you quantum blasters hiding amongst your friends), mainly due to spending so much time in Nova form. Gonna have to do a respec to add some slots to human form powers to better him.

What is wrong with CoT's? Ok, there is actually a lot of things wrong with them. But that's why we should stop them! Just send a tell and I'll help to get to you/her to 20. Archers can wait :)

Yeah, I guess I said that wrong, I know I have access to many who will help if the call is sent out, but, playing games solo for over 20 years (this is my first massive online game), it just feels like I'm imposing on everyone when I ask for help...which I know is not true, but, the thought process is still there and hard to break. Which is kinda weird because, if I can, I have no problem helping or even switching to different level hero to lend a hand when someone asks for help!! LOL

I feel the same way as you Steve. I as well have played solo games for years, and this game is also my first MMORPG. So I have a hard time askeing for teammates, but I do ususally respond to offers to team-up when someone asks me.

Heh I been playing MMO for so long now that I can actually make a good group leader.

I won't blindly invite you most times...if its hard finding team mates I'll send you a macro tell and wait about 5 sec be4 sending invite :P.

I can usually put together a good team...and if not I'll just find one that works. Youd be suprised what teams can actually chug along at a good clip.

I've had all tanker team except for me as defender at lvl 14 :P.

Transfusion for the mass healage :P.

I really wanna try out kheld...is fly the only inherant they get?

EDIT: Assumin I already know about thier inherent team ability to improve thier stats.

I have both. A WS (15) and PB (16). Actually several, but with two main Kelds. I have to say I like the PB better. It just seems to be a little faster in the recharge times and a little bit more powerful. They both have their uses for different situations. I am so rarely in human form, I can't hardly remember what they look like. LOL
I am using Nova form to build my human forms for both. Nova is just so powerful, it makes it easy to solo with both. I of course still have problems with the quantums and voids. Had two Quantums attack me at once yesterday. 3 shots bye bye
But there are so many things you can do with them, it is hard to decide how to play them. I can't wait for my tanks. I am really looking forward to them. One thing of advice I would give anyone who is getting their kelds, experiement with them. Go to test or go to a server you are not on reguarly. See what you like best. I have an SG member, that never even got Nova. Stayed with human and then got his tank. He doesn't want a Nova. It is always going to depend on your play style, and on what you are going to do with them.
My human form on PB is finally starting to get to the point where he is becoming more useful. I have to get the Quantum Shield slotted, all the shields as far as that goes.
But always go with what best suits you. I got my controller to 50 to get my Kelds.(long hard road) Soooo "Sarge, I want to kill", I said " I want to kill".

yes almost anything works, shadowhunter, lvl 42 i think? was 4 defenders. my FF/dark 50 def, a friends emp/psy 50 def, a 40 dark/dark def, and an emp/?? 44 def.

i was never really into leading/recruiting a team. but as it is summer, and ppl are takin vacations and what not, ive had to take on the task of recruiting to be able to play at all. ive gotten pretty good at it if i do say so. ill send a tell and wait for a response, as most ppl, even myself dont take kindly to blind invites. the "circle" as i call our little SG team, we used to team together, the 6 of us, everyday. most of them are either on a vacation, or due to financial issues hasnt been on much.

The Dwarf Shape is a hulking rhino looking humanoid, has 6 (and only 6) powers available to use. 2 good melee attacks and 1 decent AOE melee stomp, also a self heal, self teleport and a taunt power. Not very offensive but has very good defense and End recovery built in and can be slotted with def, damage reduction and end recovery enhancers. I use mine as an emergency form when my health starts dropping, switch over pop the inherent heal and start busting heads, even unslotted it takes significantly less damage from most hits than the human or Squiddy forms.

Plus it sounds really cool when you run...thoom-thoom-thoom. :)

Well, I've been spending more time with my Warshade lately (Chazaam, Guradian) than my Peacebringer (Solar Flayme, Triumph). The WS is currently level 24 and will be a tri-form build. I believe the 3 forms, for a WS at least, are most useful dependent upon your level.

I have lived in Nova form up until early twenties. Nova is an offensive powerhouse, albeit a rather squishy one. (I think it has a 15% defense debuff). The big thing to watch out for here is over-aggroing mobs. The Nova dishes out massive damage, especially with its AoE powers, and it will be very easy to pull mobs off of tanks in these early levels. Nova is the way to go if you want to solo part of the time, just be watchful of voids and quantums so you can get the drop on them. The inherent flight power is great for travel, too, as the teleport power in human form is a major engurance hog.

Dwarf form has been fun. I use it to tank if the team doesn't already have one. I will also switch from Nova to Dwarf if my Nova starts taking too much damage.

The human WS is fairly weak offensively in the early levels, but looks like it will really shine in later levels as they get some powerful AoE attacks. I see myself avoiding human form until around level 35 or so.

just repseced to human with light form. i didnt like it at first but its growing on me. i really like the blapper feel hes got now. i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what 4 powers i should take between 40-50. im just not sure.

heres whats left in my primary and secondary thats up for grabs:

gleaming bolt, bright nova, pulsar, glowing touch, dawn strike, shining shield, thermal shield, quantum shield, group fly, dwarf, qflight. i have the speed pool hasten and ss. and the fitness pool hurdle, health, and stam.

the ones i KNOW i will be taking are pulsar and dawn strike. none of the other powers really appeal to me. so that leaves 2 powers. i was thinking stealth for self, and recall. 2 powers from 2 pools. for click missions and/or ghosting. but not sure. any ideas??

as i stated in my other most recent post i repsec'd to human/light. i was thinking the same thing. trying out another pb with the triform style, i never really slotted dwarf, i knew i was going to go this route later on, but would like to try it tricked out.
