So...I was running through the "General Z" story arc today, which is an arc you get around Level 25 with the Sky Raiders. As I got to the last mission, I'm about done with it and low and behold, there's a Purple Lieutenant at the end of it named "Mysterious Soldier". Shyvver isn't the most powerful hero in the game, so lets just say I was slightly worried.
So I click on him and he's a L28 Nemesis Lieutenant! This is my first run in with the Nemesis! WOOWOO! So, I "inspired" myself with some reds and yellows...launched my Aim and Build Up...Bitter Ice Blast, Ice Blast, Frost Breath...and he was down. It was kinda anti-climactic, but it was cool to run into a new villain group. :)
AND I got a L28 SO out of the deal, so that worked out well too. :)

Grats on taking down your first nemsis ron...as a blaster..you will learn quickly to hate everything about nemisis they are a horrible horrible group with tons of AoEs and huge ranges...I aviod them at all costs with my blaster (might just be my personal opinion)

I don't have as much of a problem with them. Part of it is the defense I get from hovering all the time, and the rest is the fact that I am a fire blaster and they die as fast as anything else in the game.
Gratz to you Ron!

Yeah, the Nemesis aren't too bad. My blaster actually enjoyed them, but he is Tech-oriented and was looking for the tech-based enhancements they drop. I think the huge noise of their exploive guns is more unnerving than the actual damage they cause.

The only real downside to Nemesis is their incredible range for blasting at you, especially the snipers. Other than that they are great for herding (sorry the Tank in me talking). Just watch out for the Warhulks, they explode upon defeat and do serious damage to squishies.

I don't think I'll be running into them for a little while. My contact was all like, "Nemesis? We haven't heard from them in 60 years, I guess that's something we'll have to look into down the road."
It's just always cool running into something you've never seen before. :) Kinda reminds me of the first time I saw a CoT alter thingy or a Tsoo tattoo parlor.

Hummm,
My only thoughts about Nemesis is they are very resistant to Illusion. Even minions need two or three applications of Deceive or Blind before they start reacting to them. Whimcycle's PA and Phantasam cut right thru them, though.

Not a real issue for me. Ice/Ice Blaster and such. The only things that really tick me off are the Banished Pantheon and their annoying resistance to Cold damage.

You know...the only reason I want to face Nemesis is so that I can experience that little quote...the one that won the number one NPC quote on the main forums.
"I assure you, Nemesis is definitely 'down with the streets'. Word up my homies, as it were."

I don't mind nemisis that much as a blaster. Snipers can be a bit of a bain but getting in close and just laying into them works pretty well.
I did have to laugh thought. I didn't get the Mysterious General Z story arc till I was in my late 30's. So it was interesting, after battling my way through waves of Nemesis earlier (I had finised the Mass Duplicity Story Arc before the Mysterious General Z story Arc) to hear someone say "Nemesis, We haven't heard from them in years" It was even more humerous to see the "mysterious soldier" and go, wait...I know you, I've been kicking your but for almost a month now.

That is funny. :) I guess I just happened to get that story arc at a good time. It was a lot of fun. I knocked the arc out in about 2 hours, so it was nice. It was actually kind of an interesting little arc too. The L28 SO (or 27?) bonus at the end was a very good thing as well.

Humph!
Don't get me started on BA! I only do 1/4 damage against them, ditto for my pets. Glad I don't have to deal with them anymore! In fact the only thing that got me thru most of my BA missions was the Nemesis Staff and a Dark magic version of Flurry. Oh, and that neat magic Axe!

NEMESIS MY ENEMY........I too thought they were quite a cool faction but then I soon realized the horror that they can achieve. Stupid snipers and their stupid gas sniping bullets. Cant freaking find your stupid head or cant get to you because of some stupid steam powered mechanical contraption is keeping me away from being your stupid face in.
You can sense my frustration, even as a MA/SR scrap they can give you fits. Especially when you learn for the 1st time that Warhulks explode when defeated. Oh how dumb for me to think I had won the day with barely a sliver of life but low and behold the Warhulk had the last laugh. Taking me out in a final explosion of debris and hatred. Harsh lesson to learn but a good one, mental note:
Dont be close to death when making final blow against Warhulk. [/QUOTE]

Hey, I take offense at that "steam powered contraption" comment Grif! But seriously, as a defender, I really can't solo, and often find myself doing other's mishes instead of my own. Which contact gives you the staff mish, I wanted it for Steam, being a themed char and all. Get screenshots and all that.

Ahhh, the joys of being a fire tank. I just dust the debris off my shoulders when those Warhulks go kamikazee. Nemesis are just like every one else that will eventually succomb to the flames of Burn!! MWAHAHAhahahaha....oh, sorry. I'm done now.

My favorite trick:
Root one when it gets low.
Run right past it with others aggrod but not ones with ranged attacks.
Turn around and blast it with a ranged attack as his friends are passing by it to get you.
It's a borrowed AoE attack, and it works better than when you do it with CoT or Vahz!

I normalyl dont have issues with them but the 1st few times I did. Then I learned to either finish them off before Elude wore, used my Crane Kick (I believe that is the knockback one) or just had full health and didnt worry about it.

Although it's not nearly as exciting I ran into my first totem today. They're not rare i guess, I'd just never seen them before and I wasn't expecting anything new. I was with my healer, all business as usual. My eyes are usually glued to the health bars so i don't get to enjoy much of the battles if the missions are tough, and this one was tough. Level 22 healer - defender(me) and a level 28 controller (emp, kinetics i think), 29 fire blaster, up against 28/29's etc. (I got Sk though) anyway i did glance up and I was like WOW! What the **** is that? I hadn't a clue, from the angle it looked like a falling log...
It was pretty cool, i got to see a lot of them after that. I think they look pretty smart. don't know what the deal witht hem is though...
