Max Damages for weapons and max armor for shields.

Hello all,
I was wanting to make sure my info is correct and to share the info that I have found on this subject. Here's the information that I have found:
MAX Damage:

Sword: 15-22
Axe: 6-28
Hammer: 19-35
Bow: 15-28
Wand: 11-22
Staff: 11-22
Shield (max defense): 16

Max Energy on foci:12 or +24 with -1 regen
Max energy on staff:10

I have some info that's mostly for rangers too. I'm missing stuff.. like the "Shadow bow"..now, which I wondering if it's a short or long bow. Anyway, here's my info:

This info is posted in the order of fire rate, flight time, and then range.

Composite: 2.5secs, 0.5sec, 80'
Dead Bow: 2.5secs, 0.5secs, 80'
Flat Bow: 2.0secs, 1.0sec, 100'
Half Moon: 2.0secs, 0.65sec, 70'
Horn Bow: 2.7secs, 0.75sec, 80'
Ivory Bow: 2.7secs, 0.75sec, 80'
Long Bow: 2.5secs, 0.75sec, 100'
Recurve: 2.5secs, 0.5sec, 80'
Short Bow: 2.0 secs, 0.65sec, 70'
Ascalon Bow: Can find different types, longbows, shortbows, and so on
Shadow Bow: ??
Storm Bow: ??

Staff: 1.75 secs, 1.0sec, 80'
Wand: 1.75 secs, 1.0sec, 80'

Sword: 1.33 attack/sec
Axe: 1.33 attack/sec
Hammer: 1.75 attack/sec

There is definitely more max DMG with a sword, I know that for sure

Those are correct afaik, except the wand which is 11-22.

what is the max on the Axe..

I have heard from some people 6-28... But I havnt seen one higher than 6-22 which I have...

I have a firewand that is 7-21 dmg. So you may want to update your wand info. :)

15-22 *is* the max dmg on a sword.

And wands are 11-22, as I posted earlier.

Funny how as a mesmer I can find max damage axes/hammers but not a single decent wand. *sigh*

Oops..didn't see that one. My bad. :)

And I agree, I find great swords and axe's but can't find a decent wand. What I have now is on loan to me from a guild member while he works on his other characters. :)

I have the same problem with bows as a ranger. Though, I do get a lot of wands :)

Yeah the max damage for a sword is correct here.

As a ranger, I also have trouble finding bows in the field. I find weak bows kinda frequently, but I'm not counting that.. who wants to use crap?.. not me. I party with a necro friend and as far as I know, my friend doesn't get many good bows either. Maybe they cut down on specific weapon drops if you are or are with that job. Wouldn't be shocking to me.

I personally use a shortbow mostly but I keep a longbow on me at all times just in case I want/need that extra distance. It's great for those times when there's a gap between you and the enemy, like a cliff or something. Also, I go for the zealous strings and fortitude grips. With the +1 MP regen on the ranger armor, I think it's a great idea. Most of the weapon upgrades suck too though, or at least I think so.

that must have been a hammer Necr0 Axe's have a wide spread between there low and high.. 6-28 is best I have seen.

Yeah, I've never seen or heard of an axe that high. If it is an axe, please post a pic so I have proof of it. I'll change it then. I know that I'll get tons of posts saying its what I have if I change it now. Thanks.

And that necro guy didnt say he wasnt sure about the sword not being max dmg, he said he WAS sure that there is one that is higher than 15-22, which there isnt.

While this is not a max dmg axe, I found a 7-x axe while farming. The x was not the max 28, but there was definately a 7 in the first part. Has anyone else seen something like this?

Unholy_Sinister, it never even crossed my mind to make the link bookmark down to my comment, but I don't know how anyways :) Plus the relavant info is at the top.

I'll keep the chart on the other post kept up do date as I find new info. I have characters that use all those weapons that have beaten the game, so I'm keeping a closer eye on those numbers and using the charts as a reference myself.

Actually, making a PvP character should reveal the max damages for everything. It kind of goes against a core Guild Wars philosophy if it doesn't.

the rate of attack onthe axe is wrong is it not? im not shure but i thought that thw sword was the fastest then the axe then hammer
