I've got a Kinetics + Dark defender, i was wondering if Inertial Reduction could be used as a valid travel power. Or in my case, i have super speed, to gain the height that i need

Yes it can, but I would seriously slot it for accuracy. Siphon Speed rocks that way too.

Inertial reduction can indeed replace a travel power.
Siphon Speed needs accuracy...Inertial Reduction DOESN'T miss.
Just following your defender line you can get siphon speed and Inertial Reduction and have SJ all the time and SS sometimes.
Siphon Speed is worth it as a power IMO because it increases your speed...big whoop for battles right?
IT also slows down the targets speed....and recharge.
IT also buffs your recharge much like hasten...IF it hits.
So you can entirely ignore pool powers as far as travel goes if you wish....once you get IR you have a reliable travel power....and siphon speed should last you until then.
It must be noted as well with hasten you can have dual speed siphon buffs on you. Thats pretty much SS with running speed enhanced well for 30 seconds till the first wears off.
As for the validity of my claims...I got a lvl 29 Illusion/kinetics controller who has IR, Siphon Speed, and SS.
I'm normally 1st one ANYWHERE if i wish. I usually end up speed boosting and IR others to help them get there faster though.

Yup, I have a lvl 30 kinetics defender, and she has superspeed, however, she didn't have it at the time she got inertial reduction. She had fly, which isn't ideal for kinetics defenders, unless you don't plan on getting inertial. Saura has superspeed and inertial reduction, same as you, and yes, it has proven to act as a travel power for some height.

Inertial Reduction rocks as a travel power (if you like superjumping) and you can stand around under Atlas passing it out so people can get Freedom!
