| Battlefield 2 NextGen rush job? |

I'm holding on to my gun$$ until the dust settles regarding this game. The more info I dig up to see if I should get this game, the lower my hype level goes. For everything good in the game there is a BUT for it. I keep reading about bugs'a plenty, people getting slammed to the desktop after paying the entrance fee of purchase, and some crucial elements (like being able to recognize other players by name, for example) that weren't added to the game sitting on the shelves and in people's pc. Does any1 know anything about EA preparing a behemoth patch to present BF2 and potential BF2 owners to redeem themselves and to correct what's keeping the rest of us out of what looks like a ton of fun!?

Well I gota say it was a rush Job, it was ment to come out 6/27/05 but they pulled it out 1 week befor, now by that time they sould have had them already packed up and stuff I know but I would rather they take another month to fix these issues other people are having.
Also I have a little problem with False Advertizing, if any one remembers this then they would know, but on the back of the Per-order boxes and EBGames there was this "Over 100 Maps!" And "Desructable Inviroments" So far I haven seen as much as a tank run over some boxes and bash down a fence or 2 but thats it.
I just think they made it look better then it was. But I am still happy to play it and I just HOPE! more maps come out, coz they all seem to repeditive. Still THE GAME ROCKS!

yeah i read that, but when u ram a huge big war tank into a tree or wooden crate u get damage :s plus more maps wuld be good, but there seems to be about 2/3 maps going by the same name :/

I gota say that the GFX are Vary well done! I cant wait to start my mod! But by the same token they could have at least made 20 to 25 maps, its isnt that hard to make a map compared to scripting/programming.
but any way hpfuly we get a update that has a big more BITE! like 2 new maps or somthing, if they relise like 1 map at a time like in CS;S it will be that same as always.

::The public gets all hypo about it::
::We play the map for 1 day::
::Next day no one is playing it::
::Public gose back to playing De_Dust::
We need a big update I think first to Fix all the bugs people are having, then from there we move onto maps, I think a Heavy Jungle map is in order!

I will take another look at this game in about a year to see where it stands regarding all the issues that are going on with this title that have many people going bananas, and by that time this game should be in the $20 bin with more maps, mods and all patched up. I don't think there is another game like BF2 coming down the pipe later this year, which may explain why EA decided to cash in early on an unfinished product.

"Thats a Negative". Opperation Flashpoint 2 comes out later this year and looks really good! Look it up on google or Yahoo. Its still in the making but was shown at this years E3! Looks pritty good but I still think BF2 is the king! But if its gona be another EA stuff up with the dates and what not, I am not gona be happy.

I will certainly look up Operation Flashpoint as soon as am done writing this. I had quite a bit of fun with it when it dropped a couple years ago but ended up giving it away for some reason I can't recall. I just know that if they come out like BF2 did, they're going to be DOA with me and my half a hundred. BF2 is too much of a hot potato for me to touch.

the thing is that I want to be there. And to be there the resolution has to be at 1600x1200 or above with all the bells and whistles turned on and be able to get a good frame rate.
