Advanced Wall Jumping

Hello everyone

I was playing DM-Rankin online and followed someone to the 100 Armour - I was getting ready to start shooting when they pulled of some kind of wall jump manoeuvre and disappeared off up the shoot above the armour. How the hell did they do this? I can wall jump and dodge jump perfectly well but despite hours of trying I can't get anyway near high enough to get up the shoot.

Can anyone tell me how to do it? :)

At the 100 on rankin you can only get up there by charging up the shield a little bit and shield jumping up and out. You can't do any wall dodges or what-not.

What about a goo jump? I thought I saw a frag movie where somebody shot goo @ the 100, grabbed it, then jumped up the chute. Maybe they did it from above, can't remember. Anyway it looked cool & was just curious about it. :)

Ya, it can be goo jumped.... But it would take mad skillz to do it while someone is chasing you.

Ok so that is how he did it, strange because there was definately some kind of wall jump in there because he flipped over, maybe he wall jumped once high enough into the shoot.

ive practiced and practiced this move so many times and even tho ive succeeded in doing it, there r still times im back learning how to do it all over again lol. Anyways you gotta have super skillz to do it while being shot at or chased from behind. I mean when you harge your shield gun , you then have to stand perfectly in the spot that will shoot you up thru the
hole without bangin on the ceiling instead. Whats the best way to do this move? facing the wall or facing opposite the wall where the enemy is coming from?

Embarassed N00b But Gotta Ask...

Okay. You guys are obviously mad-skilled. However - would you mind pointing me in the right direction? I am a complete noob when it comes to stuff like this. I am one of those idiots whos only special manuevers are jumping and jumping to the side - I know that's pittiful, but I have no clue how to even begin to learn these advanced moves. Would someone mind pointing me to a link, guide, movie or something where I could learn and then go and practice? Many sincere thanks.

You can try searching for something like the DodgePro mod or the TempleOfTrials maps. IIRC the DodgePro mod has some demos and instructions. If you can master either of those two, you're going to know a lot of tricks.

To wall jump, you jump into a wall and when you touch it double press the direction you want to go in.

A shield jump is when you power up the shield on the attack mode and wait until it's fully charged. You then point it at your feet, release the mouse and press jump at the same time.

A goo jump is when you shoot goo and then jump on it. Don't run into it or you'll take damage. You can also shoot goo and do the shield jump on it for extra height.

Here is a demo that shows how to do this jump using the SG and the Bio Rifle.

Rankin Demo

For a Shield Gun jump you should release the SG charge immediately after jumping for best results.

i've witnessed computer bots make that jump too on the adept level one flew up and wasted me with their flak cannon!
btw, what the hells a "goo jump"???

They mean Bio Rifle
You can make a big ball of green goo by primary firing at the same spot. When it's about to blow, you walk toward the goo ball, load your shield gun and use its shield to protect yourself from being harmed while the force of the goo pushes you. It's pretty strong.
imo the weapon jump in UT2k4 is much harder to perform well than in Quake3 !

ait does take alot of time though to get it Ive sat forever trying to make the jump to no prevail let alone being shot at...hats off to that dude lol for sure...

lol in a way i agree wiv the above! but sumhow i managed to do it first time but not again at least for a few hours but now i can do it but choose not 2 i just find that it wastes time unless you can do it perfect all the time plus it wastes health and armour...so if your not sure about useing it dont simple as...(imo)
