I just looked at the preview for the I5 content and had a thought...I don't know if I want to fight witches and fire giants and such. I mean, if I wanted to battle magical enemies, I'd play WoW or EQ2 or stick with Guild Wars...I want to fight comic book-esque villains!
But then maybe I'm being unfair...after all, we have a mutant zone (Hollows) with a little bit of magic (Pumicites) and we have a science/technology zone (Striga), again with a little magic (Pantheon) so why not a full magic zone?
Meh, I guess I should just be happy there's a new zone to marvel at. I just hope the rumors are true and it does have a train running to it maybe even a hospital and trainer...
Better stop, getting me hopes up....

New zones is good zones, I say.
In the comic books, heroes never got to choose their enemies or where they came from. Oh sure, most of your villains were right in line with the hero... you had your Doctor Dooms and your Lex Luhors. But you also had more periodic enemies too. Right off the top of my head I can't tell you how many times the X-men went into the Savage Lands, where everything is prehistoric. I don't care what they throw at me, I am all for it! New is good!

Too be honest guys. I am really excited for this new area. I mean I love magic but WoW and EQ2 sucked so I came to City of Heroes and bam Loved it! So this idea of an all magic Zone is great! But too bad I am way to high for it. :( But I can always hurry to get my next character up to there! See you in Crotoa!

Ugh, don't remind me. Hera's Jewel still haunts me in my sleep...purple and blue tunnels...hooded geeks everywhere...glowing green eyes!
Not a big fan of the CoT, although those demon dudes (name slips my mind right now) are pretty cool.

Have fun playing CoV, but... why not just make yourself an Earth/Force Field Controller? By level 20, you'll have Earthquake and Dispersion Field, the Ruin Mage's nastiest tricks.

Lvl 20 I don't have that kind of patience...lol. Seriously, I've never made a controller so that does sound pretty cool thanks for the info...btw, once Mr. Decimal had Integration at lvl 16, the holds, sleeps, knockbacks, etc. pretty much subsided...

To the Original Poster:
Magical Enemies and Zones in "real" comics...how about Thor and nearly everything he fought in Asgard? There were giants, witches, warlocks, Gods, etc etc. Should work out well with the "comic mentality".

True true...I dunno, guess I'm just biased against magical enemies. I like my mutants and my fall-in-powers-bass-ackwards characters.

Hmm I like the idea of a different area to fight in. More enemies to whip don't bother me one bit.
As for ruin mage and the controller. Here is the differance. Ruin mage could kill you pretty quick. Controller can tickle you while doing the same moves.

Oh yeah most excited about a new zone and new powers. Nothing more fun than taking a level 50 into a zone (now a new zone) and laying some premium justice down on villains (now new villains).
To bad its August and that leaves us with many days to go....stupid months and their stupid days.

Oh, they get arrested alright!! I just hate falling down so much!! So that is why I would like to play a Ruin Mage, just to see it from their POV...I would never discriminate against any of the Villians in Paragon, they are ALL BAD...

You know, that's one thing that I was thinking about the other day and really would love to see in game.
A savage landesque zone of dinosaurs and lizard men. Both DC and Marvel have land before time areas. Perfect for a city of heros if you asked me.

Honestly, I'm excited about new Task Forces and badges. I don't know why, but I'm obsessed with both. Unfortunately, Bright is above the top level of the zone. I guess I'll have to exemp for my beloved trials and such. However, the streets will be cleared during my search for more badges. :)

Fortunately for me, I've gotten bored of my main tanker and he's stayed at 26 for the past few weeks. So when they do go live, he's ripe for new explorations which is great since I'm already bored of Striga.
And yes, I know I said I'm not looking forward to new magical enemies, but hey, badges and things to kill...err...arrest, and kill me are fine by me. Definitely wanna check out that ugly mofo they have on the CoH I5 sneak peek on the main page. Maybe he'll prove I'm not as good as I think I am, heh.

I never actually did all the striga missions, so Shyvver is doing them now. I really like them. I think I would say, at the moment, Striga is my favorite area.
I totally need to get the hunt badges there, though. I want The Slayer badge. :)

The easiest way to get those badges is doing the Moonfire TF. You will have to kill plenty of wolves and vampires, and it is a fun and not too long TF on top of that.
