I Am feed up with u f*ken LAGERS! OK! I go into a sever and my ping is 21 and there are people in the sever with 200+! I am sick of your laging sh!tness! If u cant get a good sever then wait for one and if u dont have DSL or Cable THEN GET IT!
I am sure all Cablers and DSL'ers are with me on this one!

I have cable, but i also understand that not everyone can afford cable or adsl. Yes i get annoyed about it, but that's very narrow minded of u to go posting things like that, besides the fact that you should have posted this in the "ranting and raving" or whatever the hell that forum is called.

First of this is General Chat so I can say what I want to, Second of all this game is a high Spec Game yes I know that not every one can afford it but by the same token you sould play on Low Pop severs like 12 or maybe 32, not 64, if one or 2 lag thats ok but when I am flying a MIG and out of know where I am dead within 1 second that is BAD! its lowering my rank! yer I know but when it comes to geting ranks its all about YOURSELF! and thats whats Pi55ing me off!

i have 2mb broadband, but i still sumtimes get pings of 200/300 so its not just people with low pings, if there was more British servers then it would be alot easier

I totally agree with the angry guy. Battlefield 2 is not for eekers and squeakers. Either drop some cash and swim or get out of the pool. And here is another thing that pisses me off. People are posting stuff by the scores like: "duh...my 9200 is having problems with the game" or "is bf2 going to do anything for people with fx5600". Common guys, do the research. I been keeping up with this game for 6 months. In fact, (i know what EA says) but this game was not really meant for the pre- gfrce6000/atix800 generation of cards.
And EA you need to get it together on the interface! That is the easiest part (from a Computer Science standpoint) to get right. I guarantee you that a group graduate students here at my podunk college could have done a better job in their spare time on the interface.

People with 56k should stick to servers especially for people with rubbish internet connections, and should also only go in servers in their country or close to it...as close as they can get, and also low people, 16 or 32...
People with good connections who can manage a ping of under 80 should go in servers for low pinged people only, in their country, or close to it...I can play in a full 64 man server from the UK (where i am) or Germany, and have a ping of less than 50, alot of the time its even like 20 or 30...but people should stick to a server which suits their connection and country...

FINALY PEOPLE SAYING SOMTHING ABOUT THIS!
We Aint angry with the 56k'ers we are just so anrgy at the fact that its OUR rank going down and THERE rank going up! Yer I get Pings of 200+ but I stay of those severs! I always go with 0-99 ping ONLY! and that leaves me with ALOT of severs to pound around on, but when I get into a 41 ping sever just to find I am geting lag killed thats not fare on me or the team! We are just saying "If Your Ping Is High, Say ByeBye".

I also am sticking to johnpenn'z comments about the Interface! Its true! and on-top of all that there is the fact that THERE ARE NOT CO-OP MISSIONS! EA need to stop thinking about that damn modding toolkit that is comming out and start fixing some real issues!

Just because you dont like what somone says, they still have a right to their opinion. I totally agree with the angry guy. I spent over $3000. building a new system to play this game with. I also pay premium rates for very fast (and very stable) cable to play it with. I dont know if its people with bad conex, but if it is, they should be blocked and not even allowed to play without a quality conex. ABSOLUTELY unfair to the rest of us. Im sorry for people that dont access to anything better, but it is totaly selfish on their parts to ruin our fun because of it. Pretty basic courtesy,if you ask me. So, anyway, rant all you want dood...you gotthe rite. And death to all 56k'rs, or at least...get the f*** out.

Yep, when i first started playing MP games on the internet a few years ago, MoH:AA was the first game i played, and i only had a 56k modem, but i had the decency to find a server which was for high pinged people only...There were very few of them around, but i found them, and played in them. When i got cable i started playing in servers which booted people for having a ping over 100, but there are no such servers in BF2, and i think you should be able to set it so that anybody with a ping over 99 gets kicked automatically...So that us people who shell out 30 pounds (or 50 dollars) a month for a high speed decent connection can play in servers with other people who do the same.

What can I say; you’re a bunch of nerds... I'm surprised that ppl with 200+ ping can kill you. It just shows how sh!t you are... In my opinion everyone should be allowed to play where ever they please, if they lag that’s their problem not yours. They are the ones that are at a disadvantaged not you. I’m on 512k connection at the moment and I lag, if you’re willing to buy me a faster connection so I can see your point of view, that’s fine. If not, STFU and play the game. Oh, and keep in mind it’s a game.

radish you clearly have no idea about the technical issues involved with high laggers on a server. do some research simpleton. why do you think 100s of Counterstrike (and other shooters) servers are set up to automatically kick people who exceed a certain ping. it can actually cause other people on the server to lag. i think you may have misunderstood the original point of this thread. also i question how often you have tried to engage a 'lagger' and found it hard to kill him, not to mention travel with him in a vehicle. they just make the whole thing messy. and they throw the team balance off. i would very much welcome bf2 servers being set up to auto kick people who exceed a certain ping.
you don't know what you are talking about. now go read.

Online gaming is like any other form of recreation. (oh and by the way, people take their recreation very seriously and ought to) Its like golf or softball or paintball, if someone is doing something that sours, interferes with, hinders, the normal flow of the game unnecessarily, its going to piss you off and you are going to say something about it. Its not that WE take gaming to seriously, but that you don't consider gaming a serious form of recreation.
I mean raddish, what do you do in your spare time. How bout I go and mess that up for you. Lets see if you don't get pissed off and say something about it.
I can think of a thousand forms of recreation that has to be done in 'certain' way or its just not as fun, from gambling, to tiddlywinks.
I mean 200+ pings are just ridiculous. They would never get away with that in most other online shooters. I hope the servers set themselves up to kick people before long.

I agree, if my ping is high, I ask if its ok for me to stay. If there aren't too many players,they'll let me. But even though it is just a game, you do like entertainment to be satisfying. Just join another server, hopefully closer to where you are. This IS online, and ther are a lot of nuts out there, as in any online endeavor. Nothing we can do but play and hope that autokick is enabled, or go elsewhere, because some just don't or won't get it.

I have a powerful pc I built myself as well as a cable connex that usually has me pinging in the lower double digit range. My problem is the sporadic stuttering I'm getting, which I've confused for lag. This is the only game I play online that does this. I play HL2, MOH:PA, Farcry, COD:UO all online maxed out, and no problem, despite high ping guys who get routinely dispatched.
Am I misdiagnosing this problem, or is it unique to BF2 only?

I cannot believe the comments of degenerate et al. Its utterly HILARIOUS!!! IT IS A GAME. Are your balls gonna fall off if your BELOVED RANK (oh heaven forbid my rank AHHHHHHHH NOOOOO) goes down? or goes up? This is a recreational game yes. If your system meets the requirements on the box your good to go PERIOD. If you need a better system than that it is fraud plain and simple. If I was playing a recreational game and someone who could play unintentionally ruined it I wouldnt care. Why? because like i said before IT IS A GAME YOU'LL LIVE THROUGH IT.
People are not joining the game to ruin YOU'RE experience. News flash the world doesnt revolve around YOU ok? I would bet that alot of these people. You know the ones ruining YOU'RE rank when they join YOU'RE game, on YOU'RE server to play on YOU'RE game and maybe be on YOU'RE side are people just like you with kick ass comps too.
These people PLUNKED down 50 bucks on a game thats supposed to work right out of the box and it doesn't (Gee who do you think you should blame for your beloved rank?). If their system meets the minimum system requirements on the box then it should be fine to play period otherwise EA is guilty of fraud.
I have a kick ass comp and have serious lag issues too. I was scouring the net for ways to fix my lag and stumbled on this thread and COULDNT NOT BELIEVE IT. Would I give a damn if it gets laggy? No just disconnect then join another server. NO BIG DEAL DUDE LOL ROFL
Is this what it has come too now? Instead of holding developers accountable for heaving out beta unoptimized code we blame the people that actually get there money litterally stolen for an unfinished game?
I cant return this otherwise I would.

I cant say that I have had alot of problems with lag...I do spend a good deal of time finding a good server though. I play in the 101st server alot because I am good friends with those guys and there server is set to kick high pings. As far as people asking questions about if there shit will work I kinda am pulled in both directions on that subject. I myself had issues with my FX5700 which is supported by the game....I could not get it to work. I ended up droping $450 on a GeForce 6800 Ultra...which fixed allll my problems. I also got 2 gigs of dual channel PC 3200 which was the best investment second to the GPU for the game.

on top of all that I am happy to see EA get of there ass with there Need for speed underground wana be pimp daddy shit and start updating BF2, about time we got some solid updates, may I also recommend to EA (If they do pass this post while serfing the net) TO GIVE US MORE FRIKKEN MAPS!
O yer, and MAYBE SOME BOTS TOO! What ever happend to EA after BF19 I dont know, but the bots where so kool in Co-oP.
Like I mean I know the AI wasnt 100% and in DC they cant fly the chopper'z for crap but I mean it was still fun!
Thats what basicly made people wana buy BF19, DC.
Then EA go and ramp the GFX+Sound+ect. and no Co-oP?.......................most people I know got this game for Co-oP. and I know there is a Mod out for Co-op but its so much fucking around for 1 map it almost makes it not worth it.
I think we should start a mass Riot on this subject of bots =D
