Ok, I have a GeForce FX5700 and I have had the same problem with 3 games. As soon as I start the game the small logo of the game comes up. Now on the tool bar you would expect that the window would be labeled as BF2 and your screen should resize and the game should start. But for me, that is not the case. Instead, the window has no name and I have to wait for 8-10 minutes for the game to start up. Now, if that was the only problem it would be fine, but I also get a lot of lag, that I never had on the demo. It is on low settings, and the screen res is 600x800. These settings are very abnormal compaired to my settings on half-life 2 which has none of these problems. Neither does guild wars. But BF2, Far Cry, and The Sims 2 all had the same problems
P.S. I do have the latest drivers (77.72 to be exact) and I have a gig of ram

Sounds like a video issue, it can take an abnormal amout of time to start a game when you dont have enouph system rescources, on your screenshot, I saw the program unreponsive message, bit blurry though: thats a common message when your cpu is working at capacity, if your system is up to speed, and you believe it should not be having this issue, then perhaps other programs are running you need to shut down first, most mallware and addware will create that problem as well. Its true that this game requires a good chunk of memory, and a decent cpu, you can also expect server side lag depending on which server you join and the connection speeds of the other players. Having updated video drivers does not always guarante best performace, you can try using a different driver, of course some games will have trouble working through a firwall(window sp2 auto installs one, nortan has its own). Do some spyware scans, and a defrag just for the mainenance end, ingame check options, optimize for perfomance to reduce lag, shadows anti-alaising viewing distance and terain detail will be your biggest system drains,(namely antialaising).
