I recently got this game and I just tried installing it today. I went through all the instalation things and restarted my computer etc etc. Now when I click on the desktop shortcut for bf2 online or bf2 it loads and flashes to a blank screen and looks like its loading but then just automaticly takes me back to my desktop. My computer meets all the requirements so I dont know whats going on. can someone help me out?

Look anytime you post the statement: "My system meets all the requirements, the next statement should be the following:
1. cpu (exact descript.)
2. ram, ram speed, capacity, brand
3. motherboard
4. exact type of harddrive
5. exact type of video card
dont be vague and dont be whiny
or else i might just have to get medieval on your hiney

Umm... why did you say your system meets the requirements if you don't even know what you have. Where did you get the system. When. From who. Series number. Etc.

download and run the following software. It will tell you what some of your specs are.
http://www.cpuid.org/download/cpu-z-129.zip
whatever you have to do find out what graphics card you have. and with all due respect to your dad i doubt the system meets the requirements of bf2.
if so prove me wrong. find out what graphics card it has in it. ask pop

I tell you what Reilly do this for me. Save and run the following link at bottom of this post. What it does is give a comprehensive read-out of all your system specs. This will tell you what kind of graphics card you are running. Do this for me now that you've got me so curious. When it gives the readout, take a screenshot of it.
You can take a screenshot by pressing the Prt Scr key at the top right of your keyboard once. Then open 'paint' program: all programs/accessories/paint Go to edit. Then paste. Then save with a name. Then go to your email and send it as an attachment to rudiin08@hotmail.com.
That is a spam email i set up for stuff like this. Send me a screenshot of the readout. but if that is not successful just type out what you read in the "display" section of the readout.
Here is the link:

Well his ram and processor are fine because i have a p4 2.4ghz processor and a gig of not so high end ram and i can run everything on max with only a little lag sometimes when lots of stuff happens at once in the same place...I suspect he has a crappy video card...

I am perhaps a little confused but let me say this up front. The official statement from EA is that geforce4 cards are not supported by the game. All geforce4 cards as of right now will cause the game to crash to desktop. Your computer actually did presicely what some hardware sites experienced in their testing of the game on geforce4 cards. I am skeptical about tweakers who claim they know how to get the gf4 to run the game. More power to them if they figured it out. Never buy a game unless you are certain your system can run the game. That is just a waste of money.
I am confused about your statement about your dad. Didn't you say you had a P4. Then you are saying its an amd athlon64. Am I the butt end of some kind of joke. Man you got to be more descriptive sometimes. Did you take a screenshot of the readout I told you? I really wanted to see that. rudiin08@hotmail.com

'NVIDIA nForce3 250 AGP' is not a graphics card. That is the kind of motherboard he has. Which is a motherboard that supports the first generation athlon64's. It is the best chipset for the 754 cpu's.
AGP represents the kind of video card it supports, as opposed to pci-express video cards. AGP is the previous generation of graphics support. Tell your dad to download and run the same program and look in the display section and find out what kind of video card he has.

he ought to be able to run the game on medium to low graphics settings. Preferebly with 1 gig or ram. Trust me on that one. OR try it out yourself
