Fake Monster Broadcast

I was in IP the other day and some inconsiderate dip dong started broadcasting the news that there was a big scorpion looking thing down by the water. About fifteen heros show up and guess what.... NO MONSTER. He kept telling us that it was there but when I tried to send him a tell it said he didnt exist or was not online. We finally desided it was a hoax and left grumbling about wasting time on a ghost hunt. As a mother of two under the age of two, I dont get very many chances to play. I like to use my time actually playing the game not wasting my precious free time on frustrating dead ends.

well this may sound evil, but if you know your Monsters in game you'll avoid hoaxes like these. In IP the only things you're gonna find is the Ghost Ship and Luska (the Octo).

I don't know where this giant scorpion idea came from, but there's not even a scorpion like character in any lvl of the game. Unless you think about Lord Recluse... and he's CoV, so no one's "really" seen him before.

If you want to avoid fake monster brodacasts, you might think about joining your servers monster watch, all the monsters are real. I've never run into a fake one.

Unfortunately there are jerks out there that will do stupid things like that. And knowing your monsters will help if you know them.

Paladin spawns in Kings Row.

Ghost Ship in Talos Island and Independence Port.

Lusca (Giant Octopus) in Independence Port.

Babbage in Boomtown.

Jurrasik in Crey's Folly.

Adamaster in Dark Astoria.

That's because the Hollows is a Trial zone, and if my memory serves me right there are no monsters roaming in trial zones, just hazard zones. Or do I have that backwards?

Yeah, the influx of killjoys has been on the upswing lately, though not a new thing. I remember shortly after Winterlords, people would shoot off WL sightings and people would be all gun-ho to take frosty one last time. I never fell for it and would make sure people knew that it was over and the other player was...uhm...playing them.

As for monsters in zones, s'far as I know there aren't any monsies in trials. Wonder what they'd put in the Hollows? A troll the size of a building...or maybe a pumicite. That would be something to see...

Speaking of monsies, isn't there supposed to be a new one popping up in the next Issue or so?

I'm a little unclear on the differance between "Trial" zones (like Stratiga, The Hollows, and The Faultine) and "Hazard" zones (like Boomtown and Dark Astoria). Can someone explain the differance?

Trial zones contain real Trials or TFs. Like the Hess TF, the Cavern of Transendence Trial, and the supposed Falutline Trial. Hazard zones don't have TFs start in their zones, and you never see people walking around because it's dangerous.

I wonder if the WLs will ever make a return. Not as the PL exploit that they were but as a single spawn. Maybe one day, they'll do an snow/ice hazard zone that the WLs actually managed to take over. That could be kind of neat.

That'll be cool to see a snow capped mountain range type zone where the WL come popping up every so often like a regular monster spawn. Think about the new villain groups for that zone.

Actually, If you had read the halloween monsters' info, it mentions that Tuatha De Dannan thingy. So the halloween idea is a very good guess.

I read one somewhere that posted a picture of Fir Bolg, and said that this would be the giant monster for that zone. I'll see if I can find it again for you.

I'm gonna have to go with Jurassik. Anything that can wield a car attached to a street light as their giant mace seems to be able to hold their own. Unless of course, we are referring to the Psychic Babbage found in onther dimension through Portal Corp. Nothing worse than a Psychic Wail to decimate a group of people at once due to the lack of Psionic defenses for almost everyone but a select few. But hey, he's only one-shot killed my lvl 50 fire tank 6 or 7 times....damn psychic wail....frickin, frackin...mubble, grumble.....Vengeance will be mine! Eventually...

Oh yea, back to the original post on this thread. As far as folks sending out fake monster calls, I usually wait for several people to start sending tells and this usually verifies the spawn. Some people just feel the need to spend their money wasting time making other people annoyed in some form or another. To answer the question of folks ending tells out and you being unable to send one directly back due to "user does not exist" This is possible because you can make yourself hidden, as I know this all to well having a lvl 50 tanker that get bombarded with tell for herding or power level requests every time I log on with him.

Gotta agree with War Shadow, Luscia is 8 giant monsters in one. He hits hard, over, and over, and over, and over ,and over ,and over, and over, and over again.

Adamastor is a pansy, as is the kraken.

But the kicker about Lusca is that there are usually quite a few heroes to help take him down along with healers. Jurassik spawns in a part of Crey's Folly that most folks don't venture through, leaving you on your own to be beat with a Volvo.

I think Babbage and Paladin would tag team together and beat all the other Monsters. Think about it every time Paladin gets distroyed by a Monster, some Clockwork will run in and rebuild him while Babbage continues to pound everyone.

Think about Paladin becoming a special armor for Babbage, make him like a Megazord!
